We are anchored out in LaTrappe Creek near Cambridge, MD on a lovely summer evening. We arrived here late this morning after getting our bacon and lettuce and a few other essentials at the market. They are so accommodating and sold me just 3 burgers, 6 eggs, 1 stick of butter, etc. Can't beat that small-town friendliness and hospitality!
I finished the Henrietta Lacks book today (quite something and highly recommend) and we got the exercising out of the way. Took a leisurely dinghy ride up the creek all the way to the end - passed at least a dozen large, beautiful homes (the cruising guide describes this area as some of the most spectacular homes and manicured lawns you will ever see along a shoreline!) We agree! Two of the homes are historic with the Hampden dating back to the 17th century and oldest home in Talbot County. The Compton was built in 1760 by John Stevens, whose son, Samuel became governor of Maryland.
We had to move from our slip around 8 this morning as this big barge/crane came in to do some maintenance on the docks and would've blocked us! So, we moved to another spot and waited till the market opened, got our groceries and were outta there. Didn't want to leave town without the bacon!!!
Yesterday in Pensacola.....Brady, Ryan, Cooper
So tonight we thoroughly enjoyed our BLT's, sweet corn on the grill and fresh peaches/blueberries.
