We are back in IL at Kamp Komfort after a long day of travel. We left Cambridge at 7:45 and had mostly cloudy skies and cool temps (such a surprise after all the heat on the east coast AND this is July 4th when it's usually HOT here in the Midwest.) Stopped at The Beef House for yummy lunch. We were hoping to see Liam and Connor, but they were gone with friends to a ballgame. The mail lady did arrive when we were there as we had it forwarded from Green Cove Springs.
Amazed at the crops - while the corn was taller in VA and MD and had tasseled out in VA, here in "REAL" corn country, there is so much that has been lost or has turned very yellow from all the rain.
While some fields look quite healthy, there is still a lot of water standing.
Got to Gridley, unloaded the truck to Toad or Daisy. Put truck in storage shed, hooked Toad up to Daisy and off we went - stopped in El Paso for groceries and got to the campground around 5ish.
Another Lazy Daze camper is here (Lynn and Jim from Toledo, OH). Lots of folks camping this holiday weekend. When we checked in, they gave us a nice "welcome back" greeting!
Had salads for supper....we are tired - nice to have an extra hour. Tomorrow, we will get all our stuff put away and organized that we brought from Catrina.
The "B's" from North Carolina
Blair and Brady being Goobers!
Ryan and the Blue Angels are in Eau Claire, WI this weekend. The Wisconsinites were wondering if they would be wearing their "yellow" flight suits since they were in cheese country? Ryan said "No" but here's what they do look like...
Ryan on left...
Have a FUN and SAFE July 4th
