Monday-Tuesday, July 6-7

Today marks the 6th anniversary of my Mom's death.....miss her so much and so many memories of 6 years ago when we were in Denali National Park, Alaska....sad to hear that my cousin (Mom's first cousin) died today (Chuck.....great guy).    Peace and blessings to his family.

And now some catching up to do after no internet or phone service last night and off and on today!

Monday - We left Kamp Komfort at 7 AM with Daisy and Toad.    Stopped in Mendota to visit Bob and Linda.    Then onto Dixon for a visit with Mark’s Mom    The heavens opened up around 11:30 with very heavy rain, but fortunately, didn’t last too long.    We met Mark’s sister, Karen and cousin, Sister Mary (from North Platte, Nebraska) who was on her way home after attending a retreat in Oshkosh, WI.   We hadn’t seen Sister in several years, so really enjoyed our lunch (Galena Steak House) and visit!
We said our good-byes and left for our trip with Pensacola, our destination.    Tonight we are in a very remote area at the Delabar State Park near Oquawka, IL    It rained very hard in the evening - these farmers do not need any more rain.....

Tuesday - Mark's Mom fell early this morning - she is ok, but some nasty cuts and 2 black eyes again just after she was healed from her last fall....

We left the campground at 10 and headed south along the Mississippi River.....drove thru so many towns with very interesting names!

Stopped in Nauvoo where Joseph Smith settled many years ago with the Church of the Latter Day Saints.    He was the founder of the Mormon Church.
Lots of history here in this little town.

Tonight starts a month-long pageant in Nauvoo and here are the bagpipers kicking off the celebration this afternoon.

Playing "Amazing Grace"

Onto Hannibal, MO where we are tonight at the Mark Twain Campground.    We drove around this afternoon and both of us got much-needed haircuts (barber shop and hair salon were next door to each other ).   Mine was only $15 ----------what a deal and she did a nice job!    Mark's was $10------------- little short for me, but he's happy, so that's what matters!

We walked around the park and then drove into town - several years ago we were here on July 4th and did a paddleboat ride on the Mississippi.

Fun doing face time tonight with the NC bunch (all except Drew)......lots of kisses from Blair!

Here are a few more pics taken yesterday.....

Luke is happy to be going home, but had so much fun with his NC cousins
