Another blustery, chilly day in SW FL. We had breakfast and then took off for a little day trip in Big Red to Clewiston (south of Lake Okeechobee) and a place we've always enjoyed a good meal and shopping. The vinyl curtains were closed but still a bit nippy under the Tiki Hut. Big Red now has 570 miles (over 1/2 way to the 1000 mark and able to tow Flo). Today's round trip was 140.
Clam chowder was a special today and really hit the spot. The chowder and shrimp tacos (me) and grilled cheese (Mark) were all delicious. Mark walked around the docks and I checked out the cute boutique at the Roland Martin Marina - love their clothes and did some shopping - first retail therapy for me in a very long time!
We came home thru Moore Haven and back here on Flo around 2:30 The winds are still blowin' like crazy. We went for a little walk, but not too pleasant with the cold temps - don't think we got out of the 50's all day?
We passed The Mix Italian Grill that we've eaten at several times - it is now permanently closed and "For Sale" sign out front. Another casualty of the pandemic I imagine.
I've been cold all day - a cup of decaf with Bailey's hit the spot. Since we had a big lunch, just popcorn for supper!
