One year ago - March 15, 2020, we went to Mass at St. Francis and today, for the 1st time, we returned for Sunday Mass. Every other aisle was purple ribboned off and although there were several people present, nothing like a "normal" Sunday in March would be. But, so good to hear the music, see the altar servers, have Father Anthony, the pastor preside along with an excellent sermon and receive Holy Communion. Of course, it was also cause for celebration with both of us past the 2-week mark from 2nd vaccines.
After church, we enjoyed breakfast at Ella Mae's Diner (Bourbon pecan French toast for Mark and avocado toast for me). So pleasant dining outdoors.
On home to do some laundry, got the suitcases out and making piles of this 'n that (warmer clothes) for our trip to NC on Wednesday. Connie mentioned yesterday there's a new thing going on.....along with the college kids on spring break.....this year, the "Seniors are on spring break" - getting away to see grandkids, friends, family, etc. now that the vaccine is in full swing. And that's exactly what we're doing! 😊
Our neighbors from Oregon (across the street), Liz and Dave are back from a little getaway in their RV to St. Augustine and then Orlando where Liz ran a marathon. She is our resident "runner" in the park and so disciplined and dedicated. There were over 2200 runners and she came in 2nd in her age group (50-54 - a youngster)!! WOW! Liz is a former police officer.
Jim and Lydia came over in the afternoon and we had a good gab!!!
Mark picked up some authentic Mexican fare from Mucho Taco (Jim and Lydia had liked this place) - and so did we! Definitely will return.
Met more neighbors tonight - Heidi and Joel from Battle Creek, MI. Had a good chat and look forward to more visiting. Love this extra hour of daylight!!!
Zoom tonight with the siblings.....missing Sharon, Janet and Joan. Most of the conversation was about the vaccine and who has gotten it, 1st, 2nd, etc......
Have a GREAT week!!!
