Wednesday - March 8

Day 5 - we checked out of the hotel at 8:30 and off to 9:00 Mass at The Basilica of St. Paul.    It was so neat seeing all the school children in their uniforms at Mass with a very good children's choir, mass servers, lectors, etc.   Brought back happy memories of our kids, Liam and Connor when they were in elementary school thru the years at St. Clare/Holy Trinity/Corpus Christi.

We ran a few errands after Mass and then met my Aunt Dee (94 years young), her daughter Barb from CA and NY, and Ron, Vicki, Bob and Linda at Racing's North Turn in Ponce Inlet.    It was extremely windy today and a little chill in the air.    This ocean-side place with beautiful view would've been great on a calm sunny day.   The Atlantic was angry today!!!   We were able to sit behind a partially closed glass door to escape the wind near the bar.    Food was great but the musician was loud so hard to visit.    Unfortunately another cousin, Aunt Dee's son, Dave and wife Karen were not feeling well (had just returned from a cruise on Monday evening), so we missed them along with 2 others (Carol from St. Louis and her brother Denny and Deb from Punta Gorda) - health issues.

We took some pics and then drove 2 miles to the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse for more visiting.

Ron and his new truck - Ford Maverick
From the time Ron ordered his truck, it took 489 days to finally get to him!!!
He's happy!!!

We had a 4+ hour trip back to Fort Myers arriving around 6:15 - we are tired after this very busy but fun 5-day getaway.    We packed in a lot and so glad we did it!

Until tomorrow....
