Hi……about time to catch up on this blog and share some
photos after our week at Lake James with our kids/grandsons! All that rain we had BEFORE vacation just kept on coming and after several days of heavy rain….the
final 2 days were hot and sunny - perfect for all the water activities!
The 4 bigger boy cousins (Davis, Liam, Brady and Connor) had
a ball in the water and there always seemed to be a little semi- circle around
Luke. What fun watching them interact
and Luke so happy and smiley loving all the attention.
We missed having our Drewby with us, but as I had mentioned
earlier, Drew is in Europe for 3 weeks and he’s kept in touch with his
parents….having an awesome time (45 7th and 8 graders on this
People-to-People venture). He’s been
to Rome, Venice, Florence, Tuscany, Vienna, Salzburg and for a few days now
they are living with host families in the countryside of Germany. He
returns home the 24th.
Saturday night we had a surprise baby/birthday shower for Brooke! Lots of girl fun!!!!
Sunday was a dual celebration – Luke’s baptism at St.
Charles Borromeo in Morganton with Brooke and Patrick as Godparents and
Connor’s 7th birthday. We
partied all day long………
Along with all the water activities, we played games and cards, bean bag toss, bocci ball, had a roaring fire every night and ate way too much. Mark and I so enjoyed our kids and the little boys having such a fun time all week long!
Anne, Patrick, Liam and Connor, and Annette’s parents (Dave
and Judy) all returned home yesterday.
Philip, Annette, Luke and Ryan are staying at the lake house for a few
days and rest of us returned home – things to finish up before Baby Girl
arrives Friday morning.
Since I last wrote, we’ve had 2 new engagements in Mark’s
family (niece Laura and nephew Jason) and new baby coming to my nephew David
and Ashley in January!
