What a thrill to wake up
this morning and see Ryan on the front page of the Seattle Times. Here’s a link to several pics taken
yesterday with Sean Tucker.
We walked to Lola (a Ryan
recommendation) for breakfast and it was sooo good (summer scrambler, excellent
nutty toast and fresh fruit with very good apricots, huge blackberries,
blueberries and grapes). Came back to
hotel, got the car and took a little drive locating the residence where we’ll
watch Sunday’s show. Back to the
hotel and walked to Nordstrom’s (their flagship store located just 2 blocks
from the WAC). I got a new pair of
black strappy sandals.
Had a leisurely afternoon
in our room and so enjoying our 19th floor (balcony) and the Blues
practice – we could see them off and on amidst the skyscrapers.
We had a late afternoon
lunch at Hagerty’s Sports Bar here at the WAC.
Walked to market place and just strolled around with all the throngs of people.
The gorgeous flowers and so reasonably priced - towards the end of the day,
not a lot of bouquets left.
John and Janie Woodley picked us up at Pier 70 and we watched the fish ladders which are installed beside the locks allowing the salmon to swim upstream. We got to see several large salmon going up the ladders.
We were treated to an excellent dinner at Palisades (Elliott Bay Marina) by John and Janie. Food and service were excellent along with fabulous views of Puget Sound and marina (1,250 boats). Later when the lights came on....wow - the city was spectacular.

We met these two in the fall of 2013 on our Splendors of Southern Spain Windstar cruise. They are boaters and we had a great time catching up and look forward to watching the Blue Angels with them Sunday (Allie and Owen, too) at their daughter's home overlooking Lake Washington.
