We had a quiet morning at the hotel along with some yummy sticky buns delivered to our room. Last night John was telling us about these pastries that he remembers as a child growing up in Seattle. The WAC was his "home" for several years and he enjoyed this yummy treat frequently.. Mark went downstairs to pick some up - they were still baking them, but said they would deliver to our room! Nice start to the day!
Former MLB player, Ken Griffey, Jr, who played many years for the Seattle Mariners is being honored this week during Seafair after being inducted in the Baseball Hall of Fame July 24th in Cooperstown, NY. His #24 jersey has been retired. #24 flag was flying high above the Space Needle as the Blues passed over yesterday.
The family members left on a bus at 11 for Kirkland, WA (darling little town and we gals all would've liked to check out the shops and eating spots). We cruised on the Lady Mary out on Lake Washington to watch the Blues perform. Unfortunately, after all the beautiful sunny weather, today was very overcast and cool. Along with the Blues family, there were several from WAC (Washington Athletic Club) which sponsored this event (18th straight year) and several former Blue Angels and their spouses. The team who flew together in 1976 were all there for their 40th anniversary and 2 of them narrated today's show.
WAC provided a lovely luncheon and a good time was had by all! Back to our rooms around 3ish, rested a bit and onto the next event!
Mark, Ryan and I walked to the Columbia Center and met the team and families for a fabulous cocktail reception and dinner on the 75 and 76th floors . WOW....Outstanding views, excellent food
and such a delightful evening!

What a fabulous ending to our last night in Seattle....
