Rained during the night and early this morning. I made ham/cheese omelets and sourdough toast with delicious peach preserves from Gather (Blue Ridge, GA shop that our Cypress Trail neighbors own). Around 9, the sun came out as we were leaving Yogi Bear and back down that very "ROUGH' road and onto I-70. Mark and I both agreed the truck traffic is absolutely nuts on this interstate and we also agreed that the trucks outnumber cars 10-1 - no kidding!!! Some of the truck stops were so full, trucks were parked along the interstate!!!
Of course, I listened to my oldies and there is very seldom a repeat of a song I heard from the day before - but today, there was just one repeat......"Sweet Caroline." Patrick is definitely following us!
We arrived in Columbus and first stop was the parking lot of the beautiful Polaris Fashion Mall. WOW.....time for some exercise after all this sitting and what a great place to stretch the legs and take in this very well-to-do mall unlike so many across the country. Polaris is a 2-story, 200-store mall with 4 anchors and we did not see one single empty store. I walked thru Von Maur (2-stories) and we found a Starbucks and enjoyed some hot treats (Jim....I really like the caramel macchiato) ๐๐๐ ๐
We left Flo and Big Red at the mall and took the car to the Orange Self-Storage in Lewis Center, OH. Mark did the paperwork for storing my car the next 1-2 months. Then back to the mall to pick up Flo and Big Red and off to the Cross Creek RV Park where we'll stay tonight on the north side of Columbus (actually Delaware, OH).
Had lunch on Flo and later left with the car badly in need of a good wash and vacuuming. There was a really nice auto wash close to storage, so off we went to have a nice clean car inside and out and put away. I will miss my car - love it, but this idea of Mark's is a good one so that after we are settled with Catrina in Port Clinton, OH (100 miles north), we'll come back and get the car to use this summer.
Yesterday in Indiana - NO masks; here in Ohio, most people are wearing them.
Back to Flo for a short time and then off to meet our nephew, Matt and his girlfriend, Kara for pizza at Donatos in Worthington, OH. So good to see Matt and meet Kara (teaches 3rd grade). We had a great visit over pizza and salad. Matt and his sister Megan both graduated from Ohio State and now work in the Columbus area. They are Tom (Mark's brother) and Beth's kiddos. Megan flew to Bend, OR yesterday to spend a week with her Grandma. Hopefully, this summer, Matt and Megan (and Kara) can come visit us on Catrina.
