The wind is still blowing out of the north but nothing like yesterday....and because of this wind, Catrina and other boats were inundated with mayflies. Yuck - Dave even brought us a blower to get rid of them - worked pretty well, but may just use the hose later.
Leisurely Saturday morning just catching up on computer stuff, outdoor chores on Catrina, etc. We went to Rosie's downtown for lunch. Rosie's and 1812 are owned by same people and this was another big hit. I had their French onion soup and chicken salad salad with so much good stuff + a white sangria made for a delicious lunch. Mark had a burger, bleu cheese coleslaw and a beer - good stuff!
When we were at 1812 a few nights ago, too stuffed to even look at their dessert tray, but today (plenty full) decided to get 2 desserts to go and have tonight. I chose the caramel/pecan bread pudding and Mark wanted chocolate lava cake only to find out they were out, so he took a rich, dense chocolate cake. Of course, ya gotta have ice cream to go with the cake, so stopped at RJ's and got a scoop of vanilla.
So while we were frustrated with all the mayflies here at the marina (1st time as they only seem to come when the wind is out of the north)??? But not the case downtown where they were everywhere with all surfaces of the shops, restaurants, any building just totally covered - what a mess! The season for these nasty little suckers should be over (late June), but not at all.
We walked around the marina tonight and met the 3rd owner (there are 4), Don and Sheila and their friends, Bob and Pat all from the Columbus area. We sat under the patio tent, had drinks and a great visit. Everyone has been soo friendly here.
Was hoping to see fireworks from Catrina's bridge tonight, but just occasionally - did hear lots of rumbling though.
