CONNOR is SWEET "16" TODAY!!!
Happy Birthday!
How can this sweet, thoughtful, kind, respectful, studious, athletic guy be 16? We welcomed our 5th grandson on July 14, 2006 and also got my brand new car, a 2006 Honda CRV that day. Oh, for these special memories! Connor is very into his family, his fur babies, many friends, golf, hockey and lawn mowing business. Very proud of this fine young man... never change your personality or sweetness! Anne has done a wonderful job with her boys and we know Patrick is beaming down with great pride!
It's a beautiful morning in northern Ohio after all the rain! Only in the 70's today!!! I walked downtown to mail a letter and check at BeYoutiful on Danielle. Talked to 2 hair stylists who were very evasive about what is going on, but said it's not good? So, no idea if its her health, family crisis? Didn't want to pry - just concerned. Will pray for her....
Since I was walking right past Coffee Express, stopped in - busy place as always. Today I tried one of their new drinks....white chocolate mocha, raspberry and coconut with pink foam! Absolutely wonderful!!!
Jeff, the mechanic came at 10 to check out engine with his Yanmar software.....he was here over 5 hours and concluded Catrina needed new fuel filters and he cleaned out the debris from old impellers that had scattered around the engines. Computers showed nothing else wrong....so, hopefully, we are good to go!
While Jeff and Mark were doing their thing, I did the laundry. Shortly after I got back, the 3 of us took Catrina out for a test run and had a nice short cruise on the lake - such a gorgeous day!
We left at 3:45 for Vermilion and chatted with Connor along the way! He got his license, -played 18 holes of golf (80) and planning to eat Chinese with his family tonight!!!
While we were out cruising with Jeff, we talked about Vermilion where he's from (38 miles east of Port Clinton). We love this town with its canals, beautiful white homes with black trim and the flowers, flowers, flowers are over the top!
Jeff asked us if we had eaten at Chez Francois and we said "actually, we are going there tonight"!!! So, Mark planned this anniversary getaway and dinner at this French restaurant that is a well known for a "fine dining" experience. When we've been here by boat, it's been closed (Mondays and Tuesdays) or we weren't able to get a reservation. What a phenomenal experience 5* with impeccable service, beautiful ambiance and food that was top notch (beef wellington for Mark and sea bass for me)! A "special occasion" place for sure and we think 53 years was all very well worth it!!!
Afterwards we walked along the dock (Catrina was here just last summer) and then down by the beach....
Oh my............here it is mid July and had mayflies on the boat AGAIN this morning! What is going on??? When I walked downtown, the fronts of buildings were covered? Crazy....Jeff said they call them "Canadian Soldiers"???
