Tuesday - July 12

Our productive day started at 9 when we were off to Elmore with our bikes and enjoyed a 12-mile ride (15 miles is about the max we can do before our electric bikes need a charge).    Love this paved, very straight trail which goes thru the country (Elmore to Lindsey) thru lots of canopies of trees (such a pretty sight), over bridges, corn and bean fields (corn looks good, beans, not so good - badly in need of rain in these parts) and under I-80 which we rode alongside for part of the way.

Back to Elmore, loaded up the bikes and stopped at Christy's Corner Cafe for iced coffees and shared a delicious peach muffin,    What a neat place....

A very special coffee shop unlike any we've ever seen
Cute cafe serving breakfast and lunch
And now the real story - a non-profit cafe, Christy's employees have special needs!
AWESOME.....we'll definitely be back

Back to Port Clinton and ran some errands and wanted to have lunch at the Tin Goose Diner which is at the airport (general aviation), but they were closed?    It's #4 on Trip Advisor so we'll try another time (closed Mon-Tues-Wed).

Onto Wal Mart and while I was getting some groceries at Bassett's, Mark was at West Marine and then on home.    Made deli sandwiches for lunch and then Mark set to work changing the impeller in Catrina's generator only to find out he had the wrong size.       Thursday, a mechanic is coming from Vermilion with the software to check out the engines and will bring correct impeller.  We had a little operating room going on in the front locker with me handing tools and other supplies to Mark down below.   Tight quarters - glad it wasn't so hot today!

I did computer stuff, tidied up the guest bedroom and changed the sheets.    Looking forward to Megan and her friend, Alex's visit.

It's another very windy day but pleasant with a high of 84.

When we were visiting Mark and Brenda in New Philadelphia, we learned much more about the Amish in their community and surrounding areas than we knew.    Mark was telling us about the different sects and what they can and cannot do, many restrictions, others more lenient with rules, etc.    Their particular area is less restrictive in their dress code and big surprise.....they have cell phones and although some still use the buggy w/horse as transportation, many now have electric bikes!    WOW...had no idea.   But not that far away, are the more restricted sects with no electricity, etc.    We would've driven around their community, but everything is closed on Sundays.

I made some big salads for supper with all kinds of stuff - yummy!

Healthy meal!
