Sunday - March 11

Hello from the Stuart Yacht Harbor where we occasionally hear the cows mooing.    Can't see 'em, but can tell they are close by.    This marina is really tucked away with lots of trees but we've been here 3x before and they will do our bottom paint tomorrow and Tuesday.    While Catrina is out of the water we'll stay at Philip and Annette's.
Had some rain this morning, but then cleared up.  We rode our bikes downtown and had breakfast at the Stuart Coffee Company; then to the Green Market which is every Sunday from 9-12 and finally off to 11:00 Mass at St. Joseph.    The winds really picked up and we left Sunset Bay (love this marina and their awesome restaurant - Sailor's Return) - just a first-class operation and we were fortunate to get the "last" slip for last night!   Boats from all over the country!
So, we had a short little 6-mile jaunt to here and just got in when the heavens opened up - rained really hard at times.
Yesterday afternoon we walked downtown.   Stuart is just the nicest town - 16,000 during the summer , but swells to 60,000 in the winter.   It has so many nice shops, restaurants, outdoor cafes, great coffee shop, and beautiful river walk.   The buildings are all nicely maintained and it has won numerous awards "Best Florida City", "Chrysanthemum Capital" and "Sailfish Capital".    The downtown area gives you that homey small-town feeling.   I love Venice on the gulf coast and Stuart is my favorite small east coast town (not that I'm real familiar with this area)!   So, there you have it.....if you're in the Stuart area, check it out!   It's a gem!
Have a great week....
