Thursday - Tuesday - May 1-6

Well hello folks...time to catch up on all our goings on!    We've covered a lot of tracks since I last wrote, so here goes!
Thursday – May 1 - It certainly doesn’t feel like May Day….burrrr.   We were off to St. Louis around 8:45 and it did not warm up the further south we drove – in the low 50’s, very windy and cloudy with occasional drizzle.
Met Philip, Annette, Luke and their friends, Matt, Caroline and Lucy at The Trailhead Brewery Company in St. Charles for lunch and visit – hadn’t seen Matt and Caroline in several years and never met Lucy (2).    They are expecting twins in October…..fun, busy times ahead for them!
Hard to believe I was in St. Charles, MO (a favorite shopping destination in the historic district), but with the weather, I had no desire to shop – just stay indoors somewhere with a nice hot cup of tea.  Checked into the Sheraton….we met my cousin Carol at Brio Tuscan Grill – sooo good to see her as it’s been several years (our Moms were sisters) and we had a super visit and wonderful dinner.
Friday  - morning up and going – met Ryan for quick breakfast at the Sheraton (Alexander’s).    Then we drove to meet Mark’s brother, Jim to give him family passes for Friday and Saturday air show.    Checked out the Spirit of St. Louis airport and figure out the parking, etc. as nothing is really posted till Saturday and Sunday.    Off to Villa Farotto to meet 3 long-time couple friends (3 of us are Sublettians) – Bev and John, Allie and Owen and Jane and Joe.    Good lunch and lots of chatter.    Time for the Blue Angels – unfortunately, NO sun, windy and chilly today!    Checked into the VIP area and gabbed with Mark’s sister Theresa and Mike, and brother Jim.   Also, my nephew Todd, cousin Carol and her twin grandchildren Drew and Abby.    FUN afternoon and great show.   Pictures with the Blue Angel pilots and then all the good-byes.    Mark and I went back to the Sheraton, had a drink in the bar (I had hot coffee and Bailey’s), changed clothes for the next outing which was to meet a bunch of Mark’s family at Cheesecake Factory for dinner.   15 of us with 6 others (Philip and family and their friends eating a little earlier cause of Luke and Lucy) made for much laughter and noise to go along with the rest of the restaurant which was packed to the gills.
So………..a very big, fun day in St. Louis.

Saturday - Up to exercise in the fitness center.   Finished packing and Ryan texted to meet him at the Break ‘n Egg (short distance from hotel).   We met up with 5 other Blue Angels and had a good visit and breakfast – times with Ryan are short ‘n sweet.    Soo much going on with these guys!    Said our good byes and hustled back to hotel to grab our stuff, check out and head to a Starbucks to meet my nephew, David, Ashley and Caden and Ashley’s dad.     So good to see them and today is Caden’s 3rd birthday – what a sweet little guy.   Grandma was home with baby Emerie (3 months).

Welcome to Illinois, Luke

Arrived home around 2:30 followed shortly by Philip Annette and Luke (his first visit to Grandma and Grandpa’s).   We had pizza with Anne, Patrick and boys and then Grandpa, Anne, Annette and Philip were off with the boys to games baseball  (Liam) and hockey (Connor).   I stayed home with Luke.
Sunday  - beautiful day and very special for Connor as he made his First Communion at the 11:30 Mass.    Then enjoyed a wonderful dinner and visiting with friends and family at Connor's home.
Today was all about Connor....

Luke went to bed early and then we 4 played dominoes (I was Queen), visiting and just relaxing and winding down after the busy weekend.
Monday  -we were off to breakfast with the neighbors who got to meet Luke and then home to start packing up their stuff.   Mark and Philip ran a bunch of errands and had lunch at the Pub II.    Annette and I had lunch at Biaggi’s with the Sublettians.   When Luke woke from his nap, the guys brought him over to meet Grandma’s friends at the restaurant.    Annette and Luke left for Princeton and 3 weeks with his other grandparents!    We took Philip to the airport to catch a flight back to FL (via Atlanta) and then to Lowe’s and bought 40 bags of brown mulch.     I went to Panera for supper and visit with the Monday Night Friends – only 4 of us.

Tuesday - Mark and I exercised this morning and after breakfast, he was off to Dixon to take his Mom to doctor appointment and then helped his brother-in-law, Mark do some landscaping (spreading mulch and planting flowers).    I entertained 8 ladies (boating friends) – farewell to Candy who leaves in a week for California.    Today was such a picture-perfect spring day!
Ooohhhh so glad to have this updated!!!    Till tomorrow....
