Tuesday - April 19

We left Cottondale at 8 AM and it was a cloudy, cooler day.     Once we got to Mississippi, we were on the hunt for a post office.    With Daisy, we are kind of restricted with getting around, so we prefer small towns where there are no lines, friendly folks and just a good experience.    Newton,  MS was 1st choice and good grief, the google maps on our phones took us out in the boondocks - very rural area and kept telling us we had arrived!   "I don't think so"........this is hardly where they would put a USPS building???    So, onto Forest, MS and tah dah....nice little town, no line and very friendly lady to wait on me.    Kept on trucking and stopped in Clinton, MS for lunch at Zaxby's (love their ZensationaL Zalad)!    Got our lunch to go and ate on Daisy as the sprinkles started.

At 2:00, we were settled at the Ameristar Casino RV Park in Vicksburg.  The big gambling boat, Ameristar is nearby as well as large Ameristar Hotel on the Mississippi River.    Daisy will stay here for 1 week while we take Toad to TX .   We are ready for a day off from traveling, so tomorrow we shall explore Vicksburg (last here in 2007).    We can't wait to see our friends, Paul and Kathy who live in McKinney (north of Dallas)  and also Barb and Roger who will be traveling from IL
We'll all be going to the air show on Saturday!

Late this afternoon we drove to historic Vicksburg - charming shops and décor with the wrought-iron balconies like in Pensacola.    Did a little shopping and then had an early dinner at Rusty's Riverfront Grill - voted #1 by Trip Advisor - my seafood gumbo was delicious along with a salad; Mark had a pasta shrimp dish that was very tasty!

The shop owners/employees are all so friendly....there are 4 casinos in town (not really our thing).

Annette and Luke are having fun at Lake James while Philip is back in FL working.   Brooke and Blair are spending some day time there - fun for the girls and little cousins!

So sad seeing all the pictures from the devastating flooding in Houston....

Haven't heard any final tally on the crowds this weekend in Knoxville, but one reporter said there were even more people at Sunday's show!!!
