HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RYAN
32 years young
We are about 150 miles apart tonight by water

Our hearts are sad today as we remember one year ago and the tragic crash of Blue Angel #6, Captain Jeff Kuss in Smyrna, TN.    Our thoughts, prayers and love will always remain with
Jeff and his family

Another beautiful day here on Smith Island.    Mark lifted weights and I walked.    So many quirky things about this place.   There is no one at the little marina office and so the honor system is used - pay in cash, leave a boat card and eventually "someone" will pick up the $.    Mark said there was a small amount of cash left from previous boaters, doors never locked, etc.    If there is some type of "incident", the local pastor will check it out!

 Pretty blooms on Smith Island
Crabbing season is just getting underway and here are just a few of thousands of crab traps we saw

We took the dinghy to Tylerton which is one of the small towns off Smith Island.    Much the same as Ewell, it has a Methodist church, post office along with Drum's Market.     Cute little place that had a small restaurant on a screened-in porch, nice grocery selection and some good looking produce.    We ordered a crab cake sandwich to go and said "no" to another piece of Smith Island 10-layer cake.

Cemetery next to the Methodist Church in Tylerton (just like Ewell)

Back to Catrina and later enjoyed our delicious all-crab sandwich!     These folks really know how to do this up right.    The lady at Drum Market said the CBS Morning News had visited along with the Food Network - stories on their famed crab and Smith Island 10-layer cakes!

We decided to try Harborside for another crab cake sandwich to go for dinner tonight.    We had planned to stay over another night, but then decided to leave this quaint spot and move on.    So we left around 12:15 and anchored out in Hudson Creek off the Little Choptank River at 3:30.    Beautiful day to be cruising and even had an F-18 fly directly overhead.    As much as we've thought of Jeff today, I think this was a special omen.

We had a good chat with Ryan.....he's been to Hawaii and Alaska and flown 2 red eye flights since Monday, so really tired!

Had a nice salad with our shared crab cake sandwich, some cold chardonnay and just a relaxing evening here in Hudson Creek.
