A scorcher today.....Mark and I exercised and then we all had breakfast at Riki's. The kids walked around checking out the town and Mark and I walked to get some ice/water.
We were underway leaving Fairport around 11:30ish headed east (20 miles, 2 locks and many bridges later). They've had a lot of rain since we came thru this area 5 weeks ago, so water levels were up making us not able to go under some bridges without taking the bimini down. So Mark and the kids took turns holding up the docking pole to see if we cleared.....sometimes yes, sometimes, take the bimini down.....
Will we make it?
Taking over the controls
Sarah giving it a try....
We arrived in Newark around 3, Mark grilled hot dogs and Italian sausage and we had a late lunch. The weather took a turn for the worse with dark skies, thunder, and winds picked up. Radar was all yellow and red, but did not get a drop and went all around us - unreal! Thought we were going to get hammered! Mark was picked up by Enterprise to get a rental for tomorrow to take the kids to airport. Drew and Sarah checked out the town!
Whatever system came thru definitely cooled things off - grateful for that!!!
Today is my Aunt Dee's 90th birthday - had a good chat with her and so thankful she is healthy and doing great!!!
Around 5:30 we realized we had not given them the Tim Horton experience. Drew was with us 6 years ago in DC and had some, but a first for Sarah. So we all piled into the rental and off we went....
Sarah's first TimBit
The kiddos finished packing (we'll be bringing some of their stuff to NC as their bags are bulging) We had a quiet last evening together!
