Tuesday - August 7

We had breakfast, the kids finished packing and at 9:00 we were off to the airport.     Started raining along the way.....dropped them off with hugs and so many good memories from the past week.     Thoroughly enjoyed Drew and Sarah and now in 1 more week they are off to start their college adventure (Drew to Iowa and Sarah to Appalachian State in Boone, NC).

Sarah and Drew

Mark and I went to a Starbucks near the airport and waited to hear that they had boarded the plane.     Then we were off to Pittsford to pick up the truck.    By this time it was pouring....I drove the truck and Mark, the rental car to Brewerton (90 miles).    Over 1/2 that distance was heavy rain....ugh!!!   But we made it and had lunch at one of our favorites - the Brewerton Diner.    Then to Winter Harbor to store truck again and checked on Flo who looks good!    Off again in the rental back to Newark and Catrina (50 miles).    Arrived at 3:40 and Mark put his bike in back of rental and was off to Enterprise to turn in car.   Rode bike back here and I started in sorting laundry and tidying up.   The dockmaster office here in Newark has just 1 washer/dryer but it's free and a nice clean facility.     Got the washer going full speed.

Just a few weeks ago it was sooo dry up here - very brittle grass and now...wow!     Everything is so lush and very very green!     Even my dahlias perked up with today's rain (glad Newark got some of the heavy stuff we drove thru) as lately, it's been missing us and we were grateful to again, have a super week of nice weather with Drew and Sarah.

Pretty bloom

Got 4 loads of laundry done....at 54 minutes per load and only 1 washer, takes a while!
Drew and Sarah made it home safe 'n sound with a good flying experience from Rochester to DC to Charlotte!    Had a good chat with Drew tonight!

Not sure of our plans for tomorrow - rain in the forecast next 2 days!
