Friday-Sunday - November 4-6

Friday - we were off again to Hardees (Mark's gift card was waiting to be used and of course, we were happy to oblige (especially my biscuits 'n gravy buddy)!    On home till Mark and I picked Lydia up and we were off to RSW and our flight to Chicago.

Lydia packed each of us a little baggie of chips and her delicious blueberry cookie for the flight.   How sweet.   All went well and we landed at O'Hare with cloudy, dreary, rainy weather - welcome back to IL.   Theresa picked us up and off to Kansasville, WI where we were entertained by Doris at her beautiful home on Eagle Lake.

Unfortunately, Janet canceled as she has a horrendous cold.    Also missing Beth and Nancy this year.    Arrived at Doris's around 5 and enjoyed some yummy appetizers before we left for "Chances Are" and a good ole Friday Night Wisconsin Fish Fry!

Played a fun game with attempting to unwrap a tightly wound (with tape) bottle of wine wearing gloves.....I won!

Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc - good stuff

Nice surprise was having our niece Hannah drive down from Milwaukee to join us for dinner.    Hannah's Mom was Sue who passed away 2 years ago.    We all enjoyed our dinner and back to Doris's (Hannah drove onto Milwaukee) for lots of chatter sitting around the nice cozy fire.

Saturday -  icky poo day weather wise with very strong winds (gusts to 60 mph) and occasional rain.   It was balmy, though with 60+ degrees.    Usually this time of year on other sisters weekends, it has been very cold and one year, we had snow!   As the day went on, the temps dropped but those winds were wild!

Leisurely morning sitting around drinking coffee and then delicious breakfast of sausage/egg/cheese soufflé, fresh fruit and bagels.    Auntie Karen was gone all day at a retreat in Rockford.    Beth did facetime with us and we had a great visit with her.    Played games the rest of the day till time to get ready for church and dinner.

We went to 5:00 Mass at St. Mary's (little country church with Father Joe) and then to Burlington and dinner at Rustic Roots - a charming restaurant in an old building preserved so well.    Good dinner, chatter and then back home.   Played another game of "Unwrap the Wine" with Joan winning a cabernet.    Played a few more games, drank more wine and that ended another fun day!

Looking forward to that extra hour of sleep tonight!

Sunday - After a gloomy, windy Saturday and that extra hour of sleep, we woke up to a beautiful sunny, less windy day.    Lots of goodies for breakfast, more games, got the washer/dryer going with all the bedding and remade the beds.

Left around 1 for O'Hare with Theresa and Marilyn who will be off to NC on Tuesday.    Good flight back to Fort Myers where Jim was waiting for us.    Nice to be back home but sure enjoyed the sisters as always.

Sorry to hear that Liam has a knee injury from hockey today as he ran into the goal post.  Icing it, so hopefully, nothing too serious.   Amazing he could be injured with all that padding they wear.   He did score a goal and Connor had 2 assists in their 8-0 win.

Tomorrow we'll be celebrating Mark's 75th!    💘
