Clear, sunny and cold! Blair was little "Susie Baker" this morning making Snickerdoodles and Oatmeal Scotches'! Both delicious!
A leisurely morning - Michael cut up a tree that had fallen a few weeks ago. He played pickleball with friends and after a delicious lunch of hot chicken salad (my friend Marsha's recipe and a family favorite), Mark and I went for a walk - it was so pleasant at 51 and we took off some of our layers. No wind was the best part.
Michael left for the Charlotte airport to pick up Drew who's flying in for 2 weeks from Dallas.
The Christmas ideas are starting to come in and shopping has begun!!! Yeah....long ways to go, but always feels good to get a start!
Off to watch Blair cheer for her 4th-5th grade teammates. We bundled up and not too bad sitting in the stands with blankets wrapped around us, plus several layers, earmuffs, gloves, scarves, etc. We sat with Bob and Judy (Brooke's parents). The game before ours (which was to start at 4:15) was way delayed + a very serious injury to one of the little boys caused a real back-up. The little guy was taken off the field by ambulance (back injury?). So overall, almost 2 hours till we were able to leave the game (1/2 time cause the cheerleaders decided to stop - could be the weather???) We grandmas and grandpas were more than ready to go home.
Brady, Mark and I stopped at Moondogs downtown to pick up 3 pizzas which Michael had ordered. Lots happening downtown with the Christmas parade this afternoon, lighting of the STAR, carriage rides and much more. It was very pretty and festive.
On home - Ryan joined us, enjoyed the pizza - Michael very happy with the Iowa win and Bob, ecstatic over big upset (Georgia Tech over North Carolina).
Judy and I played electronic monopoly with Blair (she was the winner). Good to have Drew home....
