We had a busy morning starting at 7 AM when we left for 7:30 Mass at St. Francis with Father Anthony. It was dark and foggy out! Today is the Feast of All Saints. Then to Chocolatte for breakfast - almost an hour-long trip with all the traffic + 16 miles from downtown. But sooo good - our coffees and delicious bagel sandwiches. We had plenty of time till Mark's 10:30 dental appt., so sat and used our I-pads (games of euchre, solitaire and Sudoku + read our books.) I dropped Mark off at Dr. Baxmann's for filling and I went to Target and picked up a few things. He was finished shortly after I got back and then off to the Edison Mall.
This mall is huge but we never go there - guess I'm just not into malls much (prefer the little specialty shops). But so good to see that it was thriving with very few empty spaces. Unfortunately Victoria's Secret and Penney's were closed cause of Ian....really strange cause all the stores around these 2 were open. But we could see ceiling damage, so apparently water came thru the roof - can you imagine all that merchandise getting wet??? So pleasant walking around in the cool temp as it reached 89 today+ got more steps in.
Along our way to Chocolatte, we passed a huge area where the Balfor Restoration Property folks are set up with big tents, oodles of semis' and other equipment. Chocolatte obviously had water damage as 4' of their drywall in cafe and bathrooms has been ripped out and replaced with temporary heavy cardboard advertising Balfor...
We also saw tents with homeless set up in a parking lot. 😔
It was almost 1 by the time we got home....
Went for a short walk late afternoon - very sultry out and no wind! We wimped out after visiting with Jim and came back to enjoy our AC.
Philip and Annette shared these gorgeous pictures taken today. Luke and Maeve did not have school, so the 4 of them took a little ride thru some spectacular scenery and all that luscious fall color.
