Wednesday - April 10

Beautiful day.....low 80's, windy and sunshine galore!     We both exercised and went to the Versuvius Food Truck for some great wood-fired pizza for lunch.    They hauled in the pizza oven on a trailer and set up a tent - hope they'll be back next year!

Mike and Theresa (Jim and Mark's sister) from West Chicago arrived around 1:30.    We had a fun afternoon visiting, lunch on our patio, showing them around the park and then dessert at Jim and Lydia's.    They are in Fort Myers till Sunday visiting Mike's nephew and family.

Tuesday - April 9

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANNETTE

Wishing this special gal who is so dear to our family, a wonderful day full of sunshine, laughter and love.

It was a rainy morning as we went to 8:15 Mass and then while Mark got a haircut, I had a yummy almond croissant and latte at the Java Coffee Cake.    Mark came afterwards and had breakfast.    Ran a few errands and then on home.    In the early afternoon we went to Buckingham Farms for lunch and bought several other treats to go.

The rain didn't last long but just a cloudy warm day.

Just a little group for euchre tonight, so we played one table of 4-handed and one of 3-handed.    Lots of fun!

Just 1 week left here at Cypress Trail, so today was some "last-time" events - Java House, Buckingham Farms and euchre.   God willing, we'll be back next fall to enjoy these favorites.

Monday - April 8

Luke is SIX !!!

Happy Birthday to our sweet, kindergarten, 

boy who loves school, his family and friends, the great outdoors, soccer, and is all "boy"!

Another hot one....we exercised, Mark ran some errands, I walked and did laundry.    This afternoon I went to the pool (my very 1st time) and spent almost 2 hours.    The water was heavenly - perfect temperature.   I was the only one there for awhile and then a few more trickled in.  Fun visiting and meeting some new folks.

Tonight we went to Dennis and Jamie's for appetizers/drinks and then a great meal with brisket the main course that Dennis had been smoking since 4 AM today.    All the food was delicious (topped off with homemade peach ice cream and burnt sugar cake) and met more of their neighbors and others we'd met before.

Marathon, Florida

Sunday - April 7

Sunny, hot Sunday.....went to 9:30 Mass, Publix, CVS and on home.    Mark went to Prompt Care - his left eye has been red and irritated past few days.    He's ok - just an irritation and to use saline solution.

Jim and Lydia came over in the afternoon for euchre (guys won both games) and "Pass the Trash" with Lydia and Jim, the winners and a tie between those 2.    We played inside Flo as it's really hot out! 

Jim and Lydia invited us and Leslie (their neighbor and our euchre buddy) for BLT's - Jim did the bacon on the grill - excellent sandwiches!!!!    Nice evening sitting under their gazebo visiting.













Mark concocted a weed-killing solution the other day.....saw it online and seems to be working.    Our landscaping service in the park takes care of all the plants, weeds, lawn mowing, etc.    But those pesky little weeds pop up off and on between the pavers, so....a combination of Dawn, vinegar and epson salts should do the trick.

Saturday - April 6

Hot 'n steamy Saturday.....Mark was off at 8 for Home Depot to pick up new add-on blinds for she shed doors.     We went to breakfast at the clubhouse - great blueberry pancakes, sausage, hash browns, eggs, biscuits and gravy, etc. 

Back home...Mark got the new blinds installed - they look great.    Now we have the old (2 months) set for sale?    Anyone interested???    I walked and we did some biking... really hot today!

Our neighbors Dick and Rita came over at 5 for drinks and snacks - so fun to visit about our families, travels etc.
