HAPPY 8th ANNIVERSARY
PHILIP and ANNETTE
Congratulations and here's to many more happy May 7ths!

I am back from 2 big days in Galena (#3 in IL for tourists visiting after Chicago and Springfield).    Kathy, Claire and I enjoyed spectacular weather, great shopping, eating and our stay at The Irish Cottage.    Today we enjoyed a 1-hour trolley ride hearing about the history and architecture of this charming town.  Unfortunately we couldn't take the 1-hour walking tour or go thru some of the homes (including General Grant's) as the official season has not yet started.

After a delicious lunch at Gobbie's Sports Bar today

Luke went for his 1 month check-up today!    Our little bruiser now weighs 11 lbs. 14 oz.   and this is the new look he's been sporting......

Blowing Grandma a kiss perhaps???

Mark had a good two days of doing odd jobs around the house, cleaning out the garage and
 going to the dentist.

Sunday - May 5

Cloudy day but at least no rain.   Went to 8:00 Mass and then to Coffee Hound.   Home to do some yard work and laundry.     Enjoyed the boys first baseball game of the season!   Connor had 3 hits!!!

Our little sluggers

Had some awesome deep-dish pizza for supper with Anne, Patrick and boys

Since there are no Blue Angels performing at air shows in 2013, I'm going to share a video of their first show (before the sequestration went into effect) in El Centro, CA......Ryan is the narrator!

I'm leaving early in the morning with Kathy and Claire for 2 days of girl fun in Galena (northwest IL).   Bring on the shops, food, laughs and chatter!

Saturday - May 4

Dreary, rainy Saturday!    Liam and Connor came at 8 (Anne and Patrick are both working today) and spent the day.    I did laundry, Grandpa and the boys ran some errands and Grandpa bought 2 new pairs of tennies - white and black.    Liam was quick to point out "Literally, I do NOT like the black ones"!!!   We cracked up!

LOVE face time....Brooke called this morning and we chatted over an hour while she showed me all the sweet girlie clothes and accessories that she received last night at a baby shower given by her tennis friends.    Then this afternoon, the boys did face time with cousin Luke while he took his bottle!

Grandma and her boys

Grandpa and Liam took Connor to a birthday party at 4:00 and after Anne came, we watched the Kentucky Derby.

Liam cheering on his favorite horse "Oxbow"
but won by "Orb"!

Nice to spend a quiet evening at home!

Friday - May 3

First of all.......the Carrie Underwood concert last night was phenomenal with thee most awesome choreography!!!     Bob, Linda, Dick and Mary arrived around 4, we had drinks, started the visiting and then off to Baxter's for a delicious dinner.    Then to the concert for a very enjoyable evening!   FUN!!!

Friday - rained all day and was chilly!    I took Mark to the bus station early this morning and he was off to O'Hare to pick up our car which we had left there when we flew to FL.    I came home to exercise, met the BBB friends for breakfast at CJs, stopped for a few groceries and then to PEO salad luncheon (wonderful salads, breads and desserts).   Mark was home when I got here.....and then we were off again  - first to a visitation for the 100-year old brother-in-law of our friends, Ed and Donna Rae and then to eat again ).   It was a real oink oink day!

Met friends, Bob and Martha at Rosie's for delicious dinner and good catch-up visit - been a long time since we've been together!

Thursday - May 2

Beautiful day for traveling - love all the flowering trees and GREEN grass and trees!    Left Paducah at 7:30 and just truckin' along!   Arrived home at noon.    And shortly after, Habitat for Humanity Restore came and picked up sofa (hide abed) from basement that we are donating!
It's an oldie, but goodie in that 70's decor

Unpacked and now waiting for my brother Bob and Linda, cousin Dick and Mary to arrive.   We're going out for dinner and then to the Carrie Underwood concert!    Looking forward to a fun evening with family and great music.
