Friday - March 14

We've had such a fun day.....left Daisy around 8:30, stopped and had a light breakfast at The Grind (favorite coffee shop) and then drove to Bonita Springs.   We picked up a few things at Target in Coconut Point and arrived at Paul and Margaret's lovely condo at 10:30.   They live back home, but spend the winter down here and since we were together 2 years ago in FL, they have bought a new "home" - overlooking the golf course and water - spectacular view!    Their grandson, Jack and Connor are in the same class.  We visited, had snacks and wine and caught up with our families and what's been going on this winter (again...all glad we were not home these past few months)!    Left for The Fish House (had heard about this place, but never been.....excellent food and drinks in a quaint old FL setting.)    Back to their home for delicious key lime pie!

So much fun being together with these good friends.....got back to Daisy around 4:30!

Walked in the park and sat in the swings by Siesta Lake - such a perfect evening!

Thursday - March 13

Picture-perfect day with clear, deep-blue cloudless skies and 70 degrees!    I got a manicure/pedicure and did 1 load of laundry.    Mark did some maintenance on Daisy and ran some errands.   This afternoon we went for a long bike ride and I sat outside and read!   Just a very casual, easy-going, relaxing day!

Wednesday - March 12

We exercised and later this morning, left for downtown Fort Myers.    Today was to be "Lunch with Luke" and our friends Allie and Owen from North Port were planning to come.    Since that was canceled, we met them downtown (first time for them) and had so much fun.    Delicious lunch at Ford's Garage outside, then Allie and I browsed the shops while the guys walked the beautiful waterfront.   We all met and checked out the décor at the Firestone Grille and the Sky Bar, then to Norman Love's  for some chocolates and gelato.    Sat outside - nice day and no rain as had been predicted!

Before we left downtown, Mark and I stopped at Bennett's Fresh Roast and Donuts (Paula's recommendation) for 1 donut each (breakfast tomorrow) yummy!

Update on Luke....   Annette took him to the doctor this afternoon after he woke from his nap with an unusual cough.    He has the croup!  How well Mark and I remember Liam having that and the cough sounds like a barking seal.    Not much to be done as it's viral - just keep the vaporizer going.   He has no fever and his lungs and ears are clear.    Poor baby...

And now for some humor!
I usually don't put jokes on the blog, but heard 2 today that I thought were really cute, so here goes!

Ole Olson is on his deathbed, knows the end is near, he is with his nurse, his wife, his daughter and 2 sons.
So", he says to them:  "My oldest son Swen, I want you to take the Minnetonka houses;  My daughter Lena, take the apartments over in Edina;   My son Erasmus, I want you to take the offices over on Hennepin;  and Grunhilde, My dear wife, please take all the residential buildings downtown."
The nurse is just blown away by all this, and as Ole slips away, she says, "Mrs. Olson, your husband must have been such a hard working man to have accumulated all this property."
Grunhilde replies, "Property? ... the idiot had a paper route!"
And.....
During a recent password audit by a company, it was found that an employee was using the following password:
“MickeyMinniePlutoHueyLouieDeweyDonaldGoofySacramento”
When asked why she had such a long password, she rolled her eyes and said, “Hello….it has to be at least 8 characters and include at least one capital”.
Nighty Night!

Tuesday - March 11

Beautiful day......we went to 8:00 Mass at St. Columbkille and then breakfast at Marti's - a family restaurant that is always very busy - our first time and food was good and inexpensive!!!

Since our little guest and his Mommy aren't coming, we have some free time.....Mark ran some errands and I caught up on e-mails and then spent an hour at the pool.    We went for a long bike ride to Bunche Beach and then onto Shell Point.

Ryan and the Blues are winding down their winter training - Saturday begins the 2014 air show season starting in El Centro, ....a "thank you" to all the folks there who have make their winter stay very welcoming year after year.

A new Italian restaurant opened near us while we were in NC and tonight we tried it - VERY GOOD....this is the 3rd Citrola's in the Fort Myers area but we had never been.    I texted Michael that he needed to make his Mama a Stromboli like he used to (when he and Brooke were using their bread machine years ago)....mine tonight was sooo good and brought back yummy memories.    Michael texted back "Amen"!   So.....maybe when we visit in April???    hint hint

Mark and I walked in the park....maybe worked off a "few" calories - ha!!!

Sunday-Monday, March 9-10

Sunday - went to 11:00 Mass at St. Columkille and stopped at Publix for a few things.    Jim and Lydia stopped by and we played 2 rounds of dominoes (I won both - tah dah)!!!!    At 5:30 we all left for Parrot Key and the Gatlin dinner show.    It was so much fun - great dinner and awesome entertainment!

Monday - another pretty day.   Exercised, did laundry and Mark rotated tires on car.    We ran some errands in the afternoon.......bummed that our Luke is still miserable with his cold.   He and Mommy were coming tomorrow for 3 days and we were having a "Lunch with Luke" Wednesday here in our park with family and friends to meet our little guy!     But since he's not feeling good, they have a 3-hour drive from Lake Worth and there is a 60% chance of rain, we canceled!   Hope he's better soon.    His Nana and Grandpa (Annette's parents) visited this past weekend - here is our little guy still smiling....

Swinging in Daddy's shop...

Mmmm...yummy cake and so much fun smashing into it!

Enjoying this extra daylight with the time change....
