Tuesday - February 6

Mark left around 7:45 for Tampa with all the boxes for new hitch that will be installed on Airstream this week.    I left at 9:15 and met Kathy and Claire at Wilford and Lee for the start of a fun shopping day.    We shopped, had a great lunch at Bistro 41 (celebrating Kathy's December 30th birthday) and then more shopping.

I've not been good about taking pics lately - arghhh!

So Mark got to see our new home briefly....dropped off the boxes and on back to Daisy.
I got home at 4:30 and joined Bill, Charmaine and Mark for happy hour on their patio.

Next Monday we will do the walk-thru at Tampa RV Center and hopefully, bring her home to Cypress Trail on Tuesday.

Winter Storm "Liam" is heading to the Midwest and Northeast.....hope it's not too vicious.    Those folks have had too much snow and cold already!

Monday - February 5

Wow....what a great Super Bowl game - so happy for the Eagles and their fans!    We had a heavy rainstorm last night and our Direct TV stopped right at the ending seconds of the game.....aarrghhhh....fortunately, it was quick!   We ended up with 3/4" of rain

Foggy this morning but then skies cleared and a really pretty day with a high of 75.    I rode my bike around the park, Mark exercised and then we met cousin Jane and Joe from Peoria (spending a month in Cape Coral) at Ford's Garage in downtown Fort Myers.    3 of us had the mac 'n cheese with pulled pork - absolutely delish!!!    Always fun to be with them and their nephew, Jared who lives in FM, joined us, too.    We met Jared a few years ago....so it was a very enjoyable afternoon.    Jared had to leave around 1:30 for work, so the 4 of us sat outside at "Scoops on First" and enjoyed our gelato, ice cream and smoothie + lots of chatter.

Said our good byes and plan to see one another in May back in IL.    Mark and I came on back to Daisy.    Later we walked to the club house with Bill and Charmaine for "Meet 'n Greet" with free margaritas and a bar-b-que truck with all kinds of bbq.    Enjoyed the margaritas but Mark and I were still stuffed from lunch.   Bill and Charmaine loved their brisket.

Our Luke is sick with a fever, ear infection, cough, no appetite, etc.    Poor guy....

Miss Maeve loves her hair bows and tells Mommy where to put them!

Sunday - February 4

Liam is a teenager!
Happy Birthday to the new teen in the family.....Liam is sweet, funny, polite, nice and honor student + star athlete (hockey and baseball) and just all-around nice guy!

We went to 9:30 Mass at St. Francis Xavier downtown and then to First Watch for breakfast (a 30-minute wait but well worth it - great food here).     Picked up a few groceries at Publix (which was a madhouse with folks scurrying around getting their last-minute treats for the big game tonight).

Back to Daisy and I did some closet and drawer organizing with more summery clothes - 80's in the forecast for the upcoming week.

We rode bikes and then late afternoon, went to the chili cook-off and potluck.    Great chili and other sides.    Just a never ending array of activities here at the park.

Had wine and mini desserts (from Publix) with Bill and Charmaine and on home to watch the game.

Saturday - February 3

Cloudy, cool, breezy  start to the day.    Bill, Charmaine, Mark and I walked to the clubhouse and had breakfast- a Saturday tradition from 8-10 (all you can eat for $5).    Very good and met some nice folks, including Bob and Challis from Decatur, IL.    There are around 5-6 couples from IL here.    Many have their signs out so can see where they are from.

The bloodmobile came to the park today and it's been many months since I donated, so.....was so impressed with the nice little set-up in the big bus and did my part in helping to save lives.    So proud of our Anne who achieved the status of being a 45-pint donor recently!

We are so enjoying our time thus far here at Cypress Trail - a beautiful setting, lots of friendly campers and a ton of amenities to enjoy and participate in - whatever WE want to do!    So fun being with Bill and Charmaine, too.

On another note.....our Airstream is "supposed" to be delivered to Tampa on Monday.    We had thought we would be taking possession that day, but not happening.     They are backed up with getting other RV's ready for delivery after their big Tampa RV show a few weeks ago.    So, waiting to hear when we can make the trip and finally see our new home!!!
Frustrating, but nothing we can do about it!

Tonight we met Barb, Roger, Kathy and Paul at Bahama Breeze for delicious dinner and so fun
to all be together again (been a year).

Friday - February 2

Gorgeous day and we spent the morning cleaning Daisy inside and out.    It was time for a good cleaning and now we can have fun!

We rode bikes around the park a few times - this place is huge with over 435 sites and so much to do.    We checked out the pool, laundry, fitness center, banquet hall, etc.    Every day there is a food truck that comes from 11:30-1:30 and serves something special.....today it was all about brats, burgers, Philly cheesesteaks, chicken tenders, etc.     We heard great things about their daily food special - pizza, salads and soups, bbq, etc.    We had a great lunch today sitting on the picnic table - it was just a wonderful day to be out and about.

Had wine with Bill and Charmaine and then dinner in their RV - chicken/parmesan bake and I brought a spinach salad.    Delish, simple and filling.    Great way to end a really fun day.

Joyce and Butch from Champaign, IL as they were leaving Water's Edge yesterday....
