Saturday - February 11

Drippy out there this morning....but got in some steps!   Home for breakfast and on with the day!

Laundry, computer stuff, etc.    Janet and Mike came in the afternoon.   Mike watched basketball games on TV at Jim's, Mark still doing bookwork here on Flo and rest of us played SkyJo (Janet won) and Rummikube (Jim won).    Nice afternoon under their gazebo - very breezy and warm.

Tonight we 6 went to The Prawnbroker - another wonderful meal and everyone left happy and stuffed.

We have a new grand puppy in the family.    Drew and Tessa drove from Cedar Rapids to Bloomington to pick up Maverick (born on 12/12, Michael and Anne's birthday) .    I think everyone fell in love....

Friday - February 10

Hot 'n sunny.....Mark and I met Mike and Janet at Buckingham Farms for delicious breakfast and sat and visited till Mike left for his tee time.   We showed Janet, "Booger", the big resident tortoise who was out sunning himself.

Janet went with us and a stop at Bealls (she got some retail therapy and Mark got a shirt).   On home.   Janet, Jim and Lydia played games in the afternoon.   I visited for a bit and Jim made me a delicious iced caramel latte.    Mark stopped by and later, Mike arrived from his golf game.   We (Jim, Lydia Janet and me) played a new card game (to Janet and me) - SkyJo.  While we played our game, Mark gave Mike a tour of Cypress Trail.    This new game was a lot of fun and I won!    This would be a good one to play with our kids and grandkids!

Fun game but no idea how they came up with the name?

The 6 of us left at 5:45 for University Grill with the siblings (Mark, Jim and Janet) reminiscing about the good ole days, how things are so different these days from when we grew up, etc., etc.  Lots of laughs and a very fun evening!

On home and the end to a really great day!    Enjoy your weekend!

Thursday - Februay 9

Hot 'n Sunny - I went to yoga and then walked.   Mark walked and then set to work with all his paper work stuff.

I met Claire at the McGregor Cafe for lunch and good catch-up visit.    Lisa was excellent as our waitress and lunch, sooo yummy.    Lots of people there waiting on tables (patio and inside full) so we took our chatter and moved on to Anthony's for some shopping for Claire.    Mike had dropped her off at the restaurant and picked her up at Anthony's with her new purchases.    Fun time!

Cute new outfit

Mike brought Janet to Cypress Trail for game day.     Mark showed them around Flo and the she shed (I had already left for lunch).    Mike went on back to hotel for some pool time and Janet joined Jim, Lydia and Joan (came from Arcadia) for their sibling game time.    I stopped by Jim's later in the afternoon...but didn't want to interrupt their strategy!

These are SERIOUS game players - playing "Orleans"

Mark and I enjoy card games (mainly euchre) + rummikube, dominoes, etc.

Tonight we went to The Boathouse (Jim, Lydia, Janet, Mike and us) - more good eating!   Fun visit and glad we got a table inside as we were just outside the tiki hut when the rain started!   Very packed place tonight.

More family fun

Wednesday - February 8

Another mid 80-degree day.    We woke up earlier than usual so went for a walk before the heat kicked in!

A lady came from Lincoln Galloway to pick up Little Navy (fix the emission valve canister) and brought us a loaner car - white Nautilus to use.    No idea how long this will take.

Mark and I left for several errands - he was my chauffeur and last stop was Publix before he got a haircut downtown.   While he was getting pampered, I went into Le Macaron French Pastries for an iced latte and drooled over the display of beautiful macaron cookies.   I had never been here before but we'll take definitely take Blair when she comes as that girl LOVES macarons.
One of each please!   😊

On home put groceries away, had lunch, took a little cat nap, put away basket of clean laundry, read, etc.

They brought my car back at 5 and shortly after we were on our way to BJ's to meet Janet (Mark's sister) and Michael who are visiting from Rockford, IL.   Jim and Lydia picked us up and Joe and Joan joined the party and what a fun time!  Janet and Mike arrived last night and had a fun 1st day in Fort Myers (1st visit).    Mike golfed and Janet enjoyed the pool. They are both newbies to this retirement as they ended their long illustrious careers in education this past spring.

Tuesday - February 7

Warm and sunny - we Floridians could all get "high" on this weather that's for sure!   Mark had a full day working on taxes and charitable contributions.

I went to yoga, did some laundry, read, walked, etc.

Maeve has had a loose tooth (her first) for several weeks.....it finally came out today, BUT fell out in the car down between seats/seat belt holder, etc.   Oh my....

Good chat with Drew today - he's very excited as he's getting a puppy (Australian Shepherd - red merle) this weekend,

Our next-door neighbors, Brenda and Gary from MO came over for drinks/snacks and a nice long visit.

Gary and Brenda

Then Mark and I were off to play euchre - 9 tables tonight - the cards were not so good for either of us but still a fun time.

Tah dah.....the missing tooth has been found!

Hope the tooth fairy leaves something special, Maeve😁
