Our drive to Valdez this morning was spectacular.....the Thompson Pass was 7.5 miles of winding roads that climbed about 3,000 feet and oh my, the beauty was everywhere!Horse Tail FallsWorthington Glacier

After settling Daisy in at the Eagle's Rest RV Park, we had lunch at The Totem Inn and then walked around Valdez. Visited some of the museums and watched the very interesting movie on the earthquake that hit Valdez in 1964 (Good Friday - March 27th) and virtually destroyed the town with 31 lives lost. It was the worst ever in North American history and new findings have it recorded as a 9.2 on the richter scale. We boarded The LuLu Belle at 1:00 for a 7-hour cruise on Prince William Sound - what a delightful trip to Columbia Glacier, viewing lots of wildlife and meeting some very intersting fellow passengers from all over the world. Just a few of the many sea lions basking along shore
Sweet little Puffin Humpback whale's tail
Here we are at Columbia Glacier - the size of the icebergs was incredible
Killer or Orca whales
We arrived back in port at 8:00 and had dinner at The Edgewater - still very light out when we walked back to Daisy after a very enjoyable day!
