Today the roads were straighter and more flatland with mountains in the far distance. We are in Dawson Creek and have finished the Alcan Highway travels. Even I drove about 20 miles today. Along the way we saw some signs from back home...Farm land out in the wide-open countryside.Hay seems to be the major farming crop and here is field with lots of fresh balesA field of grazing sheep (not Dall, not Stone - just regular ole sheep)
These signs indicate icy bridges in British Columbia

Mark standing at Milepost "0" marker which signifies the start of the Alcan Highway which certainly has a lot of history!
. Nice downtown area - I did some shopping, we had some excellent gelato at Cafe Europa and then shared a Pannini sandwich on the way back to Daisy (3.5 mile round-trip on foot) Our "new" friends, Brenda and Alex from Charlotte stopped by to say "hello" and we had a nice visit - we all just happened to be at the Milepost "0" Campsite together.
The weather has been wonderful - cool evenings and warm, sunny days!

Pat: You will continue to see mile after mile of harvested hay in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. We were in those Provinces two years ago at this same time and we saw huge fields of harvested hay. It is pretty flat in those areas and also Alberta. We went to Alberta several years ago and the wind about blew us away in the extreme southern part. Edmondton, Saskatchewan is a very pretty city if you are through there. We also went to Moose Jaw which was quaint with a lot of their buildings having murals painted on them depicting different scenes and periods of time. Good travels. Judy
