Finished up the packing and even Philip was amazed that it all fit! He came to Catrina and went over a bunch of stuff with Mark – hope he, Annette and friends will have lots of boating fun!
Said good bye to Catrina and her new Captain and left the marina at 10:25. I was well stocked with support cushion, ibuprofen, water, ice, etc. Stopped several timess and walked. Overall...a good day of travel.
Along the way, I asked Mark if he had any thoughts on a new song for the blog (not water related?) Well, “You can't go home again”.....came to mind after the fiasco of his hometown making headlines and national TV coverage across the country. We stopped near Valdosta, GA.......the USA Today had the headlines “Dixon, IL residents shocked about embezzlement”. This story has certainly been in the news the past few days about the town comptroller taking $30m of the city's funds! WOW.......this lady lives on her big horse farm about a mile from Mark's parents!!! Along with all her prize-winning horses, fancy homes, clothes and jewelry, she owned a $2.1m motor home. Now this we would like to see!!!
Mostly sunny with a few sprinkles off and on.....Florida is to get some nasty storms tonight/tomorrow.
We are in Cordele, Georgia tonight – had a good dinner at Compadres and now icing down the back.
Still 825 miles to home, so planning on Sunday arrival! Enjoy your weekend...
