Sunday - April 1

It's April....2012 is 1/4 over already!!!!    And today would've been my Mom's 93rd birthday!
Really got a good drenching around 8 am this morning, but lasted only about 10 minutes and then skies cleared and another gorgeous day, but very windy!    Mark and I took the dinghy and had the unique experience of Palm Sunday Mass at 12:45 under the cork tree in the children's sandy playground.    A man was raking the sand nice 'n smooth and they had white benches set up.    Father Roger's altar was in front of the playground overlooking the harbor.    It was by far the quickest Palm Sunday Mass we've ever attended....he said from the start this would be quick and the passion, would be the short version as he had to catch the 1:30 ferry.    So, 35 minutes later, we were on our way back to the dinghy.    There were 29 in attendance with singing, distribution and blessing of palms, etc.

Back to Catrina, changed clothes and left for Marsh Harbor with Barbara Lynn in the lead.   With the strong winds, it was a bit rocky, especially when we turned and had beam sides (waves hitting us on our side - hate this)!   But we only had about 6 miles, so overall....not bad.    We are the Harbor View Marina, family-owned and very nice with heated pool, restaurant, laundry, etc.    Of course....new town and new restaurant, so went to Snappas for lunch (good eating a g a i n)!!!!!    Washed down Catrina and then Mark and I went for a walk and checked out the town - most everything in the Abacos is closed on Sundays, but the bakery was open, so bought a fresh loaf of cinnamon raisin bread to share with Barb and Roger.    The Bahamians are known for their bread - has a sweetness to it....yum!!!
Barb and I did some laundry here in the marina, very close to our boats.

Barb and Roger came aboard for games and it was definitely the guys night!    They beat us 5 out of 5 games of sequence and Roger won 2 games of dominoes.

REVENGE tomorrow......nite nite!
