Sunday - January 5

After a night of rain off and on and then a shower or 2 this morning, the skies cleared and it was bright and sunny!     We went for a short walk after breakfast and then left around 10 for Islamorada (34 miles north) to meet our friends, Bill and Nancy,    We were at the Bass Pro Shop and browsed around before we met up and then the chatter and laughs began.   We had lunch at Zane Grey   Just before our food arrived, the rain came and came and came - big-time downpour.    We moved to another table and enjoyed wonderful lobster salads and crab salad sandwiches.    It rained very hard and eventually we went inside.   No idea how much Islamorada got, but it had to be a bunch in a short amount of time - water standing all over!     Bill and Nancy were on the RV near Key Largo and moving on tomorrow.
Always enjoy our time with these long-time boating friends who now live in TN.

Back to Marathon with the sun shining and warming up to 82.....stopped for Publix for a few things.   I went for a walk and later we both walked around the marina (Mark is happy there are boats here to check out and walk the docks).   Saw our first sunset of 2014 ending a very enjoyable day!

1st sunset for us in 2014
