Monday - July 10

Hot, sunny, humid, steamy, sultry, +++ here in DC today with the week ahead in the 90's.    Oh well, it's the good ole summer time and 2 of the hottest places I can think of are St. Louis
 and right here in DC.

Mark did his weights this morning and I walked (still babying my shoulder).    We are just steps away from an awesome boardwalk to walk, jog, ride bikes.    Later we walked together, picked up some iced coffees at Philz, checked out the metro stations and got some groceries at Harris Teeter - "wonderful" store.

Philip sent this pic taken in Latrobe, PA a few weeks ago!

This flower is growing along the concrete wall of the marina.
Sure looks like fireweed which is so abundant in Alaska?

Here at the marina...
shallow pool area for the little ones to cool off along with a waterfall - what fun!
Yesterday it was packed.....so much quieter during the week!

Met some Navy and Coast Guard folks who are on our dock.    Ryan and they had several mutual acquaintances.

Ryan came onboard Catrina for simple supper of BBQ sandwiches, baked beans, fresh fruit, deviled eggs and then up to the bridge with red wine and dark chocolate!
Another beautiful evening with nice breeze!

Just heard about the tragic crash of the C-130 involving 8 Marines in Mississippi tonight.    Thoughts and prayers for the victims and their families.
