Ryan saw us off this morning after his run. We were underway at 8:45 with cool, cloudy, calm conditions. We have to cruise south for about 110 miles on the Potomac and then head north on the Chesapeake. For the most part, the day was ok but we were bundled up with hooded sweatshirts and a blanket! It was downright chilly! But that changed after lunch when the sun came out and winds picked up and with current and opposing tide, the last 45 minutes was not pleasant with lots of pounding. We stopped earlier than planned and now at Cole's Point Marina in Hague, Virginia. We cruised 90 miles arriving at 2:30. The sun is shining and the flag is whipping straight out!
Marine helicopter flying nearby as we leave The Yards
Capital way off in the distance as we head south on the Potomac
We had dinner at Tim's here at the marina - good shrimp, crab and hush puppies. After dinner we went for a walk to check out the marina and campground.
Luke had his first show 'n tell today. He took a John Deere tractor which would've made his Great Grandpa C very proud!
Tomorrow we are off to Annapolis with rain in the forecast all day
