Fun day in the sun and on the water. Lydia is still hurting with her knee so she and Theresa are lying low. Janet and Marilyn took the bus to Mt. Vernon and thoroughly enjoyed that tour.
Mark and I walked to Harris Teeters and got some groceries and then left on Catrina and cruised a bit over an hour to Mt. Vernon to pick up Janet and Marilyn around 1:00. A bit tricky getting them on the boat as it is very shallow and could not tie up to the dock as we had planned. The other side of dock is for the big cruise boats which ferry people back and forth from Alexandria and DC.
But the gals were troopers and got onboard just fine. We anchored out and had lunch. It was extremely windy today and much cooler - 80 degrees.
Enjoyed cruising back to The Yards, Mark gave Marilyn a tour of Terraphobic and then we were off to get a collapsible cane for Lydia at CVS and onto their condo in Alexandria. Mark, Theresa and Janet went to Wal Mart (they are not close to any stores or restaurants so our truck came in handy). I stayed at condo with Lydia and Marilyn. Lydia's knee is much better so we'll just take this one day at a time and see how it goes.
Siblings...Marilyn, Mark, Janet
Lydia and her spiffy plaid walking stick
We are leaving our truck with the sisters and they can use for whatever. Not sure if Lydia can do the Metro? Mark and I came back on the Metro and having a light snack on Catrina - tired after a big day with sun, water and wind.
Unfortunately Michael's sciatica is REALLY hurting. Feel so bad for him....
