Thursday - Aiugust 3

Big day here in our nation's capital.     Mark and I drove the truck to the Reagan Office Building where we parked and then met the sisters.     The White House has very strict restrictions on what you can take inside.    Absolutely no bags, purses, back packs, etc.    Only cell phones, small cameras, and personal photo ID.    We left our purses in the truck and went thru 2 security stations before we finally were entering the White House thru the east wing.      Enjoyed all the photos and the décor of the various rooms, including red, blue and green rooms.

We had lunch at Del Fresco's Grille which was very good and felt wonderful to "sit" and rest the weary legs in the cool AC.

After lunch, we stopped at the Trump International Hotel (formerly the post office).
It was quite something - just a few of the magnificent chandeliers

We walked around the outside of the building and took an elevator to the top of the tower for awesome views of the city

Walking to the Metro, saw these Crepe Myrtle trees on top of building

Mark and I came back to Catrina (we'll pick truck up later) by Metro and sisters went to their condo.   We were all ready for a much-needed rest.    Yesterday I walked over 21,000 steps.     Today, 19.673.

It is now 11:50 PM and we've just arrived back to Catrina.    More to report tomorrow about our
 city tour of lights tonight....

Good night!
