Thursday - November 30

Day 4 - After breakfast, we took Uber to Central Park and walked around the beautiful, opulent Plaza Hotel.    I've been here before but never in the basement where there are shops and many eateries.     The girls bought ornaments and I got a latte.    We walked across the street to meet Connor McCue from Ireland.    Connor came to the states in 1981 and he was a delightful guide with that neat brogue.    He and Emma (horse) gave us a great 45-minute carriage ride thru Central Park on a very pretty day with still lots of color on the trees.

Beautiful day in Central Park

Cousin Barb and Pat at the Boathouse Café

After our ride, we walked in the park (absolutely beautiful) and arrived at the Boathouse Cafe where we met my cousin Barb for lunch.    Barb and husband Chris are from Colorado but have a condo in NYC.    What fun to catch up with her over a delicious lunch in an awesome setting.
After lunch we all strolled thru the park and had a Belgium waffle (turtle) at the Wafel and Dinges little stand.    Dinges is my maiden name and I had heard about this and just had to check it out.    There are several walk-up stands and 1 restaurant.    We got our waffles and oh my......

Unique place

Turtle wafle - delicious
Barb walked with us towards Madison Avenue where we browsed the shops and again, so many people.    We stopped in Rockefeller Center to see the tree lit up, Barb saw the Saks 5th Avenue laser show (1st time) and rest of us enjoyed it one last time.    We meandered on some more and then parted ways with Barb with good bye hugs as she was off to the subway and on home.     What a fun afternoon with her.
We kept on truckin' although my feet were screaming!!!     Stopped at Guy's American Kitchen and Bar for drinks and nachos.    The owner, Guy Fieri is host to America's Diners, Drive-in's and Dives.    Neat place!
Then it was just a short walk across the street to the Shubert Theater and Bette Midler starring in
HELLO DOLLY

WOW.....fantastic.    Crazy busy place after the show with all the theaters letting out.   We got an Uber ride, back to hotel, gabbed awhile and finally crawled into bed after midnight!
