Friday - June 5

Sunny and hot (reached 90).     We had an enjoyable day leaving at 7 and heading southeast (yesterday was northwest).    We drove 11 miles to Sidney, Ohio and found the Alcove family restaurant.    Well, duh, we are out of practice and did not check our trusty Trip Advisor for best places to eat.   This place had some good reviews (Google Maps) but what a disappointment.    Mark had his biscuits and gravy (1st in a long time) - gravy was very floury and my sausage/egg/cheese sandwich was nothing like I ususally get or make.    Oh well......tummies were full and then found a laundromat and did 2 loads (boy, so spoiled after a winter of my own washer/dryer in she shed and then a nice set at the cottage.)    But, got the job done and Mark took Big Red thru a car wash.   Found a cute coffee shop "High Grounds" and got some iced coffees to go.

We checked out Tawawa Park and did some hiking on one of many paved trails - very nice area (196 acres) but so disappointing to see the big waterpark, pool and playground equipment closed.    The swings and playgrounds were either marked off with yellow caution tape or the orange plastic fencing - even saw a shelter wrapped in plastic.    And stacks and stacks of picnic tables not in use for this year - unless things change?

Stopped at the post office for some stamps and then drove to Russells Point (other direction from Jackson Center).   Wow....what a nice surprise as this area is all about boating and I mean BIG time on the Indian Lake - we've never seen so many pontoons (they were EVERYWHERE).    Several boat dealers, lots and lots of summer homes and oodles of RV parks and campgrounds.    I can imagine the busyness of a summer weekend.....but again, here, too, lots of areas were closed off from the kiddies having fun!

Time for lunch and did the Trip Advisor thing choosing #1 - Woody's Diner.   Oh my, awesome food and one of the best chicken salad sandwiches I've had + excellent cole slaw which they sell by the pint (got some to go).    Definitely worthy of the #1 title.

We drove around the lake which is 8 square miles and on back to Jackson Center.    Found a nice big shade tree in residential area and parked Big Red......Mark did his I-pad and I read (and took a short powerr nap).     At 3:30 we drove to the factory to get Flo's status and tah dah....she is all done!    Mark talked to Kevin and went over all the stuff they fixed, the little green tractor brought her back to her spot and we settled in for the night.

Tomorrow we are off to Bloomington - can't wait to see Anne, Liam and Connor and meet Gibson!
We have 345 miles to Kamp Komfort where we plan to stay for a week.

Have a safe, fun weekend!
