Another hot one today with rain in the forecast, but that didn't happen as it went between us and Toledo and headed out on the lake! It was already 80 at 6:30 AM and been very windy.
Mark had to check on a package at the post office which just happens to be across the street from Coffee Express, so the dear took care of our coffee fix and on with the day.
Mark had some odd jobs on Catrina (always something to do on a boat) and I walked in the building. The Coastal Detailing guys came around 11 to give Catrina a good cleaning (when we had her detailed over the winter, one more wash was part of the deal after it was in the water.) Between their schedule and us being in Canada, they got the job done today! She looks great!
While they were scrubbing away, we took off in the car - Mark was looking for some hardware for front window and checked at West Marine and Bassett's Hardware. I found a wonderful shop (Newport) in the same plaza as these 2 stores. Great men and women's clothing and accessories - been here for 35 years!!!! How could I have missed this? It was a great shop and I found a new dress! And Mark got the window latch fixed!
Home to a clean Catrina, fixed lunch (leftover perch from yesterday) and veggies/dip.
So sad to hear that Dr. Bandy, a long-time pediatrician in Bloomington/Normal passed away at age 70. Dr. Bandy and Dr. Zimmerman (Ryan's Dr.) formed a practice 41 years ago. Dr. Zimmerman passed away a few years ago at age 68 from cancer and now Dr. Bandy who was Liam and Connor's Dr. from birth till now.
Oh my, what devastating flooding in Yellowstone and towns around that historic 150-year old park. Just heartbreaking seeing homes moving swiftly down the river and all the loss of revenue from tourists during this busy summer season. Michael, Brooke, Brady and Blair have a trip to Yellowstone planned for August? We shall see...
Terry, the mechanic stopped by to just do a quick visual check of Catrina's port engine. Nothing......to get to the real issue, he will bring his computer with updated software (coming next week) and that should pinpoint the problem! But since we're not going anywhere, we'll just be patient and wait!
Speaking of Michael, he is currently 8, 439 miles from Port Clinton - gotta love this technology. Tomorrow he starts the long trek home!
I made a batch of BBQ this afternoon so that was supper (sliders) and fresh fruit.
Did some walking in the building and outside. Still pretty warm!
