We set out this pretty Saturday morning for Many Glacier and hiked 4.9 miles to Iceberg Lake. What a trek thru rugged terrain, lots of snow and high above the tree tops! with many waterfalls and wonderful scenery. I took several pictures, but with very slow internet service here, I'm posting only a few! We were so proud of ourselves for making it and then the return 4.9 miles back down! Tired legs/feet tonight but the views made it all very worthwhile Swiftcurrent Lake
We met Sarah from Germany who is traveling around the USA and Canada this summer!
We made it to Iceberg Lake.........totally frozen but what a view as it is centered in the "bowl" of the mountain
We weary nomads arrived back to the campground and what a surprise to see another "Daisy" parked right beside us! These folks are from Texas and along with their 3rd grade twin grandsons will be spending the summer in Alaska and will be home by Labor Day!
Yesterday we drove the "Road to the Sun" highway which is a 36-mile trip to the other side of the mountain. However, we could only go 13 miles because of heavy snow. Really strange to be driving along with all this fresh spring growth and know that up ahead was 30-50' of snow which they estimate will take another 2 weeks to clear and open the roads!
