Saturday-Sunday, July 9-10

We arrived back on Catrina at 5:15 Sunday afternoon.

Saturday - Mark and I left Lake James at 8 - as always enjoyed our week with the kiddos and sad to say good bye - Thanksgiving is a long ways off!  😢

We had around 450 miles to travel today and started out with good weather but that sure changed.   We had lunch at Chick-fil-A in Princeton, WV and then a Starbucks break in Spanishburg, WV.....after that, lots of rain and Mark was driving thru the mountains on all those curvy roads.    UGH....I drove the last 135 miles with no rain in Ohio and sunny skies.

We arrived in New Philadelphia, checked into our hotel room and then met our friends, Mark and Brenda from Cypress Trail at their lovely home.    It was so good to see them.   They have a wonderful outdoor kitchen, patio and beautiful landscaping.    Two of Mark's   famous pizzas...+ a delicious salad from Brenda + a bottle of red wine made for an awesome meal topped off with Mark's homemade limoncello.    Had a fun visit with lots of chatter about growing up, our families, reminiscing about good times in FL and each of us enjoying our Airstreams.

Mark and Brenda
Mark explains how he makes his limoncello - delicious!!!

Sunday - a good nights sleep and off to 8:30 Mass at Sacred Heart.    Of all the churches we've been in since the pandemic hit 2+ years ago, this was by far, the biggest # of parishioners for a Sunday Mass.    Really good to see since so many churches are hurting with folks not returning after services started up again.

Had breakfast in our room +  a latte from Starbucks for me (right by the hotel).    We checked out of our room and arrived at Mark and Brenda's around 10:30.    They took us on a tour of several interesting places in the area....Mark's business (Mark's Salon - full service spa and salon); sawmill where he does his woodworking (unbelievable), property in the country with trails, small ponds and lots of bird feeders for Brenda's 96-year old father to keep filled.   We had a wonderful lunch at Ravens Glen Winery in West Lafayette.    Very pretty sitting along the Tuscarawas River and more good visiting.

The gang from Cypress Trail

Back to their home to say good bye but hopefully, they can come see us on Catrina later this summer?    We drove back to Port Clinton (2.5 hours).    Decided we needed some ice cream while Catrina cools down so off RJ's for some Tofts

Zoom tonight with 9 siblings - Covid is still in the news with several more family members testing positive.   Also catching up on family vacations and more coming up.

Have a great week....
