Saturday - October 14

Boy are we ever happy and thankful to be settled in at the Stoney Creek Travel Park in Cornersville, TN.    We were back on the road at 8:45 this morning after another heavy downpour at 9:45 last night.    It was very gloomy, chilly and windy when we left Salem.

So, today was sooo much construction on I57 - long stretches of 1 lane, then done for a short stretch but soon the same ole same ole on and on!!!    And traffic on I24 was just bananas.    Mark had been following a big wide load semi for a long time - was nice to follow behind this big guy.   At one point, Mark was able to pass him, only to have a semi on the far right swerve into wide load's lane causing him to come into Big Red's lane forcing Big Red onto shoulder - sooo close to being sideswept and Ruby and I were watching the whole thing!     YIKES.....scary.   Mark and wide load blasted their horns at the other semi.    Thankfully, all turned out, but......a very hairy moment!

We stopped in Calvert City, KY for diesel for Big Red and then at Cracker Barrel for late lunch in Nashville.    There was at least a 15-mile back-up in the northbound lanes of I65 - no idea what the cause was as we never saw an accident but wow.....that will sure slow ya down!    Finally saw the sun in Nashville.

We were last here at this campground on October 18, 2020 enroute to FL.
