What a day! My urologist (Dr. Carolyn Langford) had called me yesterday and was sending orders for another CT scan after reviewing the one from last week - I have several stones, so.....a bit concerning!
We had such a rigmarole trying to get the scan done (urgent care facilities do not do CT scans - but originally, Dr. said she wanted an x-ray). The hospital would not take me as I do not have a NC physician. Finally with the help of Mike Bailey at Mountain View Urgent Care - Hickory, I was able to set up with Blue Ridge Radiology in Hickory. This all came after several calls between Fort Myers, Morganton and Hickory. But around 1:00, I had the scan and we were on our way to lunch. Mark checked Trip Advisor and found Crosswinds Cafe (at the airport) had a great rating of 4.7*.
It's just a walk-up cafe but our food was excellent. Mark had the Blue Angel burger and brought back memories from when Ryan flew into Hickory as a Blue Angel and was given the "Key to the City" by the mayor back in 2013.
Stopped at Publix in Hickory for some Blue Bell ice cream for Mark and on back to Flo. We had s quiet rest of the afternoon, including a nap for me. Annette picked up Luke from golf practice and we enjoyed leftovers from last night (chicken pot pie, funeral potatoes and crispy brussel sprouts.) She took the kids to meet a friend of Luke's who is on spring break to hang out at the hot tub.
It was a beautiful day but again, very windy. Cool mornings and nights!
Yesterday as we were traveling, I so enjoyed the springtime beauty of North Carolina. Here are some pics I took today. The new green growth is spectacular...
