Tuesday - January 6

We rode bikes today for the first time since October 1st - wow......felt good, but just a short ride to warm up the muscles and gradually build up our distance.    Met Jane and Joe at Tarpon Creek for delicious lunch and then spent a delightful afternoon at their Marathon "home" for January.    Nice and spacious with a wonderful screened-in porch and fenced-in backyard,   We played euchre and
"a good time was had by all!"

Back to Daisy and walked to the pool, got some drinks at Lazy Daze and chatted with Patrick and Jane who were leaving the pool and heading back to their boat "The Lady Jane".     Jane gave me the grand tour (beautiful)!    So good chatting with them and walking the docks.

It's so good to be back here in this laid-back community - checking out all the changes from last year - some good, some not so good (favorite eating spots, gone, etc.)

We are happy campers today enjoying the warm sunshine and thankful to be here and away from the cold, wind and snow coming back home!

We exercised this morning and got rest of stuff put away!

We ran several errands late morning and had a yummy lunch at
The Stuffed Pig.

Just saw this picture today for first time -

Jane and Joe came over at 4 and we sat in Daisy and chatted away, then to the Sunset Grill for Happy Hour enjoying yummy appetizers and drinks!   SOOO fun to be with them again and looking forward to many good times in January here in Marathon!

Sunday - January 4

Hello from Marathon - our winter home for January.    We are sort of settled in and will finish up tomorrow getting everything stowed away

Mark and I went to 9:30 Mass at St. Terese de Lisieux (Luke was still sleeping, so they were going later).    From church, we drove straight to Daisy, hooked up Toad and we were off at 11:30, arriving about 4 hours later at the Marathon Marina and RV Resort.    Right after we drove in, our  buddy, Jane (boating friend we met last year) waved from across the fence by the pool.   Good to be back and look forward to seeing these gals again...

Not much of a sunset tonight, but did chat with a fellow RV neighbor (Nancy) who was here
 last year, too.

Had dinner at Castaway's (ahhhh, that fresh shrimp practically melted in our mouths) and then to Publix for some groceries.

Anne, Patrick, Liam and Connor have had a fun weekend in Chicago and tonight are at the Blackhawks game AND, the boys got to skate on the ice, meet some players, etc. before the game.    What a treat and thrill for the 2nd year in a row....

Friday-Saturday, January 2-3

Friday - all kinds of weather for traveling today starting with fog and drizzle, then clearing a bit, back to fog and dark clouds which led to a heavy brief rainstorm and finally SUNSHINE and 83 degrees when we arrived in Lake Worth around 1:30.   Stopped in Melbourne for lunch and a quick visit to Lenscrafters as one of my sunglass lenses popped out.

So good to be here with Philip Annette and Luke.  He is a delight and all boy - busy, busy just like Blair with never a moment's rest.    Did some time in the hot tub, great tortellini dinner, opened presents (nice to spread Christmas out a bit longer) and just enjoyed catching up.

It's Christmas again...

Saturday - Nice sunny day in south Florida.   Philip left around 8:30 for a trip to Bogota, Columbia, Mark and I exercised and after a yummy breakfast prepared by Annette (Canadian bacon/zucchini quiche), we girls played with Luke (he opened up more presents, too) and Grandpa ran some errands and got a haircut.

Didn't take Luke long to figure out his musical farm animal puzzle!
Hmmmm...think he needs more of a challenge?
Hi ya Luke
Annette and I enjoying pedicures

My friend, Susie who lives nearby, came for a great visit - so fun to catch up with her.

Annette, Susie, Luke and Pat
Philip's new outdoor kitchen which he designed and built himself - awesome!

He cooked a pork shoulder roast on the Green Egg for 15 hours and tonight we enjoyed delicious pulled pork sandwiches, cole slaw and Greek Pasta Salad - yummy!    Mark, Annette and I played several games of 3-handed euchre.

Philip got home round 8:30 - Luke opened up more gifts off and on....he would run to the tree, gab a present and come running with lots of giggles!

January 1, 2015

HAPPY NEW YEAR

We folks in NC were sound asleep when 2015 rolled around...hope you had a good celebration!

Mark and I left Lake James at 8:20 this morning with a few more cuddles for Blair and hugs for Michael and Brooke (said our goodbyes to the boys last night as they were still snoozin' this morning).   We had such a FUN visit, but once again
I hate good-byes!

It was 25 degrees with 750 miles to Lake Worth when we started the trip.   We enjoyed beautiful sunshine most of the day with just a few raindrops near the GA/FL border as the temps kept climbing.  I drove 2 hours on Interstate 26.

Some pictures of the NC grandchildren...

We are in Yulee, Florida tonight with 292 miles to Luke.    We are so blessed that we will see all 7 of our grandchildren in less than one week!

And our wish for you is a very happy, healthy, safe new year!!!
