Thursday - March 5

What a fun day......I exercised and then Bob and Linda came and we went to Biscotti's for breakfast - delicious!    Off to Naples with a stop for kringle at Sweet Odin's Danish Bakery in Bonita Springs.    One of our favorite shopping jaunts is Victoria and we did some serious damage (for almost 1.5 hours while Mark and Bob waited patiently in the car with their I-pads, crossword puzzles, etc.).    Next stop was The Shops at Venetian Village - lots of fun shopping for our granddaughters (and us)!

It was such a beautiful day and this is such a lovely shopping area on the water - definitely coming back here someday?

Not a bad view to enjoy while the wives are boosting the Naples economy

Tonight we had another wonderful dinner at The Prawnbroker.

Wednesday - March 4

It's another beautiful day in Fort Myers....Mark exercised, we had breakfast and then went to 9:30 Mass.   Back to Daisy and around 11, Bob and Linda arrived.   We chatted a while and then left for the Cape Cod Fish Company - gotta love those lobstah rolls!    We girls left for a shopping jaunt and the guys did their thing back on Daisy, sitting outdoors with their I-pads, kindles, etc.

Linda and I checked out several shops and got back to Daisy around 4:45.    We drove downtown (heavy traffic) and had dinner at Firestone Grille followed by drinks (Guilty Pleasure Martinis) on the Sky Deck with beautiful view of downtown Fort Myers at night.

Tuesday - March 3

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY
to "Mom"  - 89 years young!

May you be blessed with a safe, healthy, happy year ahead

We woke up hearing about the ice storm back home, across the Midwest and beyond.    Liam and Connor are off school, Anne and Patrick started work late.   Feel guilty (just a little bit) with our sunny, 82 degree day!

Went to 9:30 Mass and then First Watch for breakfast - love their cranberry nut pancake, but today, tried the carrot cake pancake - wow!    Think I have a new favorite.   Has the carrots, pineapple, raisins and nuts just like the cake!

Came back to Daisy for a bit and then off to Naples to spend the afternoon with Mark's brother
Jim and Lydia.   We played dominoes (Mark won) and then 2 hands of euchre which
Lydia and I won.

We all went to P. F. Chang's for delicious dinner.

Today is the anniversary of our accident in St. Pete (hit by car while crossing Pasadena Boulevard = fractured shoulder).    But FIVE years later, all is good and shoulder is doing great!

Luke started swim school today

Have fun, sweetie!

Monday - March 2

We had a really fun day starting with exercising (well, that's not so much fun), 9:30 Mass, coffee and pastry at Biscotti, and then drove downtown and later met boating friends for lunch at Ford's Garage.

Helen and Leon from Muskegon, Michigan are in FL for the month of March and so good to see them.    Lots of chatter around the table and very good lunch.

After lunch, Roger, Barb, Mark and I walked around downtown and to the Yacht Basin Marina where our friends from Annapolis/Marathon are spending a few weeks (Charlotte and Doug).    Great to see them again and looking forward to lunch on Saturday along with Beth and John
(we all have PDQ power cats)!

Back to Daisy, gathered up the laundry and took all the stuff along with my Kindle and got that job out of the way!

Sunday - March 1

Woke up to clear sunny skies and everything so fresh after all the rain - hearing reports of anywhere from 2-3" in this area.    We went to 9:00 Mass at Church of the Resurrection and then picked up a few things at Publix.    Home to change clothes, hop on our bikes and we were off to the beach.

Met Claire, Mike, Margie and Paul for lunch at Matanzas (very good, especially my Key Lime Colada) and then to Claire and Mike's for dominoes with Claire, the new Queen!    Mark and I walked on Estero (main drag on the island) to Lani Kai for a drink on the rooftop - a very happening place with tons of spring breakers.   Beautiful view of the beach full of boats and sunbathers.    Had a brief shower, but we were in a glider protected by a canopy  Walked rest of the way across the bridge, got back on the bikes and within a few minutes of arriving back on Daisy, the heavens opened up again!     Fun afternoon with good friends!!!

Sooo excited to hear that our niece, Katy became engaged last night!     Katy is Mark's sister,
Sue and Tom's daughter and she's marrying  a "Mike"
(that makes 7 in the family with the name "Michael")!!!

Have a great week ahead....
