Labor Day - 2016

Happy Labor Day

Hope this holiday has been relaxing, rewarding and rejuvenating for all...

We started the day with delicious mango waffles from Trader Joe's.    Philip and Ryan met for breakfast in Cleveland!   Glad they could get together.    Ryan had big Labor Day air show this afternoon and Philip had flights to Myrtle Beach and Baltimore.

Annette and I took the kiddies to Target and spent about 1.5 hours browsing and sipping our Starbucks as the rain poured down, major thunder and the lights flickered off and on!    Maeve slept thru it all.    Got home and nary a drop!

Judith (neighbor) and grandson Judah stopped by in the afternoon with a gift for Maeve and to meet her for first time....nice visit with them!

Mark had another good day putzing away on Catrina and getting lots of piddly (and not so piddly odd jobs) done!    Tonight he had dinner at Doug and Charlotte's.

2 happy kiddies this morning...

 "Little Miss Perfect"

Lots of nasty looking radar tonight, plus thunder and dark skies, but so far, nuthin!

Sunday - September 4

Bright sunshiny Sunday!    After breakfast, Philip and Luke went to a friend's and Luke rode the ATV.   I went to 11:30 Mass at St. Therese and what a celebration with wonderful folk music, hand clapping, singing in honor of Mother Teresa becoming
St. Teresa of Calcutta!!!

Our little farm girl...
Miss John Deere 2016

Could be next spokesperson for John Deere?

Philip picked up a trip late this afternoon and off he went.    He'll be in Atlanta, Cleveland and Dallas and  home tomorrow night!

Yummy chicken parmesan Annette prepared - she is really spoiling me!

Maeve was especially happy tonight - so many sweet smiles.

Hope you all have a fun, safe Labor Day!

Saturday - September 3

Another hot one - while the storm didn't bring us any significant rainfall and wind, it didn't stop the heat!   Thinking of so many affected by Hermine.........we'll take the heat!

After breakfast Luke and Philip went to watch the remote planes fly and the trucks race around the track.    Annette got out some pretty fall decorations and Maeve slept a good part of the morning!   She is such a good baby...

So blessed...

Pretty fall decor

Many thoughts of Ryan flying today in Cleveland with his new #6 buddy, Frank...

#5 and 6 ready for take-off............

Our friends, Dan and Chris Hiltz (son John was #2 pilot 2 years ago and Ryan's roommate) are
there for this exciting 1st show to have all 6 jets up in the sky!
Chris has been keeping we moms and spouses updated!

What a beautiful sight to see all 6 jets flying together again...

Philip and Annette went to 4:30 Mass at St. Therese and the heavens opened up around 4:45 with many loud cracks of thunder!

Annette made some wonderful eggplant parmesan tonight.    Last night she grilled portabella mushrooms on the Green Egg and along with Havarti cheese, grilled onions and peppers, it was served on toasted Kaiser rolls!   YUMMY!

Friday - September 2

Catching up on Hermine this morning....and although it came close to our 3 boys (Ryan especially) there was nothing significant in south FL or western NC.

Maeve loves ceiling fans....here she is mesmerized by those blades going slowly round and round

Hanging out in grandma's bed provided many minutes of fun!

Catrina is back in the water....yeah.   Not sure when the sea trial will be, but Mark is working away cleaning and organizing our stuff in the comfort of AC.  He has checked out of hotel and on Catrina from here on....

Catrina finally floating again...

Philip and Luke went to Tractor Supply - he loves the tractors and other guy stuff....
Mr. Conehead

Grandma got some pampering this afternoon with a mani-pedi.    The owner of the shop used to live in Bloomington - super nice guy and his wife along with all the staff here are great!

Philip and Annette ran some errands and I hung out with the kiddies.    Maeve still has a few sniffles.    We are using the cool-mist vaporizer in her room.    Last night Luke saw all the steam coming out of "Elliott" the vaporizer.

Elliott

So, Luke tells Mommy that "there's smoke in Maeve's room and we have to call the fire department"
We had a good chuckle over that!

Thursday - September 1

Florida is all about Tropical Storm Hermine developing into a hurricane.    Fortunately for us in SE Florida,  the rain has passed us and today was hot and occasional sun., but a heat index of 106.

Parts of the Panhandle are going to get the brunt of Hermine.....Ryan and the Blues arrived in Cleveland yesterday for the long holiday weekend with 3 shows and first time to fly with new #6 after several weeks practicing.

I went to CVS after lunch for a few things, Philip went to work around 1 and then took a nap with Annette, Luke and Maeve.

Luke has a cough and cold.....Maeve has a few sniffles, too.....hate this as don't want my little ones hurting or uncomfortable!

So peaceful...
