Friday - April 5

Whew.....the heat is on down here in Fort Myers - hit 90 today!     We exercised, Mark painted the she shed doors and I cleaned Flo inside and did all the cabinetry with Murphy's Oil Soap.

Mark is missing his good Tilley hat which he wears all the time......where oh where could it be?   We thought maybe he had it last Saturday when we went on the Babcock Ranch Eco tour, so put down the convertible top and off to the country we went.    Lots of hats/caps in their lost 'n found, but no Tilley.    We had lunch (shared a shrimp basket) at the Gator Shake, stopped at the hardware store and then the Hayloft - western wear shop.

Later this afternoon Mark went to install the enclosed blinds on doors and lo and behold......the new doors have wider panes (by 1 inch) so our blinds do not fit!!!!!!     AARRGGHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The guys came this afternoon to put the palms on the tiki hut...

Working away stapling palms to the wood frame
Quite the project, but these guys do it fast and frequently
And wah lah....all done!

Buckingham Farms serves breakfast and lunch and on Friday evenings, they have a special carry-out dinner.   You have to order online by Thursday or before and when they sell out, that's it.    So, we ordered Wednesday (2 entree choices) and picked up at 5 today.    Lots of orders waiting ......very good dinner of crab cakes, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans and a very fresh salad.    Definitely a big hit and we have leftovers!

Another winner at Buckingham Farms

Enjoy your weekend!

Thursday - April 4

Sun and clouds with the threat of rain all day....I walked and then we got to work with Mark polishing/waxing Flo and I did the windows, screens and sills.    She is sparkling!!!

Plans changed today as Barb and Roger were to come for visit/lunch.    They both have been dealing with fevers, sore throats, colds, coughs, etc., so.....cancelled out!     Hope they are both 100% before they had head back to Illinois next Monday.

Also today our new doors for she shed were delivered.    The original doors have been dirty looking and just would not clean up despite 3 different people stopping by to "try" and clean.    So.....we are happy with the new doors - they will have to be painted (that was another big controversy as to paint or not to paint).    Today's installer said they just have a primer on so yes, "paint".    Amazon Sheds out of Bonita Springs needs to tell their customers this info.     I yigh yigh!

This afternoon, we nomads jumped in our shiny red convertible and off to Starbucks drive-in for iced coffees and then Home Depot to buy some Behr paint for the she shed doors and other piddlies.  Enjoying the car.....hair flying in the breeze, radio cranked up and away we go!     Harder for Mark to get in and out as it sits so low and very little leg room if we have back-seat passengers.    Sure is easy to put roof up and down - just push a button and tah dah....we are good to go!

A new tiki hut is going up across the street - was thinking how much the grandkids would enjoy watching - perfect view from Flo.     Here's the progress and imagine tomorrow, they'll put on the palm leaves.

Getting started
Putting in big posts
The roof goes up
Tah dah....waiting for the palms (this is on "your" lot, Bill)

More pretty flowers in the park......here ya go....

Yesterday when we were downtown we stopped at the library and got library cards.    We order all our books for Kindle and I-pad thru Amazon, but a friend said we really should join the library and order books which go straight to our devices and are all free.    We have 2 weeks to read.....only catch is you may wait a while to get the book as in one we ordered today - 18 weeks!!!!!   Yikes, but we both have quite a stash to read, so....

The weatherman sure missed the boat today.....rain was to start at noon and continue into the evening - 100% for several hours?    We got a very few bitty sprinkles this afternoon and that was that!!!

BLT's and salad for supper.....sooo yummy and Mark's very favorite sandwich!     One more bike ride for both of us and called it a day.    It really cooled off - very pleasant evening!

Wednesday - April 3

It was another fun day in Fort Myers......we exercised, walked and washed Flo.    Went to noon Mass at St. Francis and then downtown - had lunch at Ford's Garage.   We walked around and saw all the people going to see "Million Dollar Quartet" at the Florida Repertory Theater.    Lucky folks - such a great show!      Picked up their fall schedule....

This afternoon we went to the airport and turned in our 2-month rental of the RAV 4 and........picked up this little baby for the next 9 days!     Mark is spoiling me.....

A little fun for the remainder of our Florida days...

It was a perfect day for a convertible ride with low humidity and a little breeze.     Decided it's a drive-around-town car and not on the interstate.

Back to Flo and walked some more.

Love all the beauty of our park....

Mark had a burger and I had this awesome pulled pork BBQ mac 'n cheese for lunch
He had the leftovers for supper!
Really good stuff!

It's been great the past few days opening all of Flo's windows and enjoying the nice breeze.....the heat and humidity are returning this weekend!

Tuesday - April 2

Very windy today but warm with clouds and sun.    We were to get some rain but it all stayed north of us.

We had omelets and toast for breakfast, walked, biked, Mark worked on the battery cable hook-ups and I went to Target and Dollar Tree.

Quiet afternoon and euchre at night - only 6 of us so played 6-handed (the first time for the other 4)!    We each won a game....lots of fun!

April Fool's Day - 2019

HAPPY HEAVENLY BIRTHDAY MOM...
She would have been 100 today....

Sunny and low 80's today.    We exercised, I walked, we biked, and got the laundry all caught up.

We nomads enjoyed a lazy day reading, napping, and just taking it easy.   My cold is better, but still not 100% done with it!

BLT's for supper and then we watched the movie
"A Star is Born" on TV - very good!

Maeve loves watering the plants - wish she was here to help Grandma water her impatiens (2x a day)
