This morning we drove to Homer (4.5 miles from Homer Spit) and checked out the town.
Mama Moose and Baby were grazing along the roadside
At 11:00, we boarded " The Discovery" for a wildlife tour on Kachemak Bay and onto Seldovia.
Just a few of the many, many birds on Gull Island
Elephant Rock
Cute little sea otter just hanging out taking a nap
Arrived in Seldovia (little village of 286) and had a delicious lunch at The Mad Fish
Every Memorial Day, the residents of Seldovia have a carving contest with chain saws and this was one of many creations around the town!
St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church- now on the list of
National Registered Landmarks
A typical car in Alaska - dirty & dusty from all the gravel/dirt roads!
