July 6

We enjoyed a fun morning with Mark and Patty from Mark's hometown - Patty's parents are friends with Mark's parents. They have lived in Healy for 30 years and drove us around the area! It was great for us to hear all about their Alaska lifestyle, their family, and memories from back home! Patty and Mark
Welcome to Denali where we are settled at the Riley Creek Campground. This afternoon we went Whitewater Rafting on the rapids of the Nenana River - what FUN!!! This is the bus that took us to the water as we were all dressed in our rain gear, boots, etc. The water temperature was 36 and we did get soaked a few times!
Had a potluck supper with John, Heather and Cardy at their campsite (behind us) - good food and fun chatting about our day!
And then.......at 9;45 tonight when it was still very light out, this cow moose walked right behind Daisy - I heard the rustling in the bushes and lo and behold...there she was! We and several neighbors got lots of pictures as Ms. Moose was very photogenic!

We are sorry about your mother. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope things are going well now that you are back. If you come through Denali again give us a call. The smoke is gone for now and the skies are good.
