Friday - January 6

What a sad, scary day here in southeast Florida with the horrible shootings at Fort Lauderdale airport.    This is Philip's workplace...OMG, how horrible as we sat and watched the news.

We left Stuart at 6 AM and I dropped Mark off at the West Palm Beach airport.   He flew to Newark and then Norfolk and arrived around 1:00    So, my wife/mom worry genes have kicked in as the east coast storm is heating up with 5-8" of snow predicted for Norfolk tonight/tomorrow with gale force winds, bitterly cold temps, etc.    Yikes....not a good time to be on a boat, but glad the guys will be together and just wait it out till conditions are safe to continue onto DC.

I drove onto Lake Worth and will stay with Philip, Annette, Luke and Maeve for a few days till Mark returns.    I stopped at Brooklyn Bagels and picked up some breakfast treats and onto the kids where Miss Maeve had just finished breakfast and wow.....my big girl was sitting up!

Sitting up at 5 months, but still keeping pillows close by just in case I topple over.

I got a haircut at 11:45 with Brianna and stopped at CVS for a few things.   On home to hear the horrific news and been watching FOX news all afternoon.

Forgot to mention that the nurse at Centra Care in Daytona Beach called yesterday on our way to Fort Myers to see how I was feeling?    How nice was that?    I told her not much improvement.   She said this stuff takes awhile to get over especially the cough which can linger on and on.

Annette, Luke and Maeve have colds/coughs, too....

Mark checked in that he and Ryan have been out shopping and nice 'n warm on Terraphobic.    They are ready for the storm to start brewing!    They plan to stay put until Monday when this nasty storm is finally over and the waters have calmed down.

Praying for the victims and their families tonight along with those injured that they will all recover.
A very sad day in our country....not the way we want the new year to start off.

A little ray of sunshine on this very sad day
